Making the right materials choice

Homeowners today have seemingly endless options when it comes to selecting materials for their new build or renovation. The problem is, not knowing where to start can lead to irrational, uninformed and sometimes rushed decision-making. “Focus on the things that matter most to help aid in your decision-making,” suggests Lindsey Nip of Selective Stone. “Factors include overall design, where the material is going, your family situation, budgetary constraints, whether it is a personal home or rental, etc.” Also, Nip says, take the time to critically think about and discuss these topics with family and friends or your designer or contractor.
