Jennifer Lopez has always been someone who does it all. Now, with the upcoming release of her ninth studio album, This Is Me … Now, Lopez is set to raise the bar for herself again.

After months of teasing it to fans, the star will release the highly anticipated album on February 16. The project is Lopez’s first full-length record in nearly a decade. Alongside the album, J.Lo will also release This Is Me … Now: A Love Story on Prime Video. The film is described as “an intimate, fantastical, and narrative-driven reflection of Lopez’s journey to find love,” inspired by the new music.

Lopez hinted at what was to come in a November 2022 interview with Zane Lowe, on the New Zealand DJ’s podcast.

“We captured me at this moment in time when I was reunited with the love of my life, and we decided we were going to be together forever. The whole message of the album then is: This love exists. This is a real love,” she said at the time, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Now I think what the message of the album is very much—if you were wondering if you have, like me at times, lost hope, almost given up: Don’t. Because true love does exist, and some things do last forever, and that’s real.”

Ahead, everything to know about This Is Me … Now.

When do the album and film come out?

Both projects will drop on February 16, 2024.

The album’s lead single, “Can’t Get Enough,” and its music video dropped on January 10.

What is the film about?

Directed by Dave Meyers, This Is Me … Now: A Love Story is set to be a “genre-redefining immersive cinematic experience” filled with star-studded cameos and, ultimately, an “ode to Lopez’s journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairy-tale endings.”

What’s in the trailer?

The official trailer, which dropped on January 17, shows Lopez seemingly playing herself in a semi-autobiographical musical epic, which follows the singer’s journey to find lasting love. It also includes plenty of references to all the public scrutiny of Lopez’s love life.

“I know what they say about me,” she says in a voiceover as the trailer opens. “About hopeless romantics. That we’re weak. And I’m not weak.”

She adds, “I learned the hard way: Not all love stories have a happy ending.”

The trailer also pokes fun at Lopez’s multiple marriages and high-profile romantic relationships. One scene depicts an intervention staged by her friends, with one expressing concern over J.Lo’s dating habits: “We think you might be a sex addict.” And during a wedding scene (the same one used in the “Can’t Get Enough” video), guests mutter skeptically about the marriage’s longevity: “Third time’s the charm?” one asks. Another predicts, “This guy don’t stand a chance!”

In November 2023, Lopez shared a much shorter teaser for the upcoming film, which included a snippet of the album’s title track.

Who else is in the movie?

Besides Lopez, expect celebrity cameos from Keke Palmer, Sofía Vergara, Kim Petras, Derek Hough, Jenifer Lewis, Trevor Noah, and Post Malone. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lopez’s Oscar-winning husband is also set to make an appearance.

Indeed, the whole project seems to be a joint affair: Ben Affleck—who, J.Lo has said, heavily influenced the This Is Me … Then record in 2002—is listed as a writer alongside Lopez in A Love Story’s credits.
