Jennifer Lopez arrived to the Oscars red carpet in head-to-toe sparkle, courtesy of Tom Ford. No stranger to mastering a red carpet, J.Lo complemented the look with a polished yet simple wave in her hair and stunning jewels.
But J.Lo's red carpet prowess might not be the only thing behind her killer look on this year's Oscars carpet. The superstar may or may not have channeled her friend Kim Kardashian's 2016 Met Gala look, an equally mirrored and sparkling body-con style by Balmain.
The Kardashians have been known to spend time with J.Lo, and often invite her for parties and dinner at their infamous compound in Calabasas. While we assume they spend little time discussing the ins and outs of their red carpet looks over martinis and meals with Kris, there is a chance this killer Met Gala look could have inspired J.Lo's super sexy and stunning look for tonight's Academy Awards.
While the dresses bear obvious resemblance to one another, Kardashian West's look is (as expected) infinitely more sexy than J.Lo's, with a thigh-high slit. J.Lo's paillettes are larger than Kim's, and the neckline of her Tom Ford gown is a mock neck, which elongates her silhouette and has our jaws on the floor.
The beauty, however, could not have been more different—Kim opted for a slicked-back, almost wet look hairdo and a dramatic eye to complement her look and the futuristic theme of the 2016 Met Gala, Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.
Another similarity? The arm candy. Kim Kardashian West walked the red carpet of the 2016 Met Gala with her husband, Kanye West, while J.Lo was joined by her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, cementing her role as one of the most stunning women at the Oscars, as well as a key part of one of the event's hottest couples.
The jury is still out on whether J.Lo was inspired by KKW's look—our guess is not, considering J.Lo doesn't need much inspiration for her ability to churn out fashion gold for each and every red carpet she graces. Odds are this is simply something they'll laugh about over their next cocktail party at Kris' house.
