Who says monochrome has to be boring?

On Thursday night, Taylor Russell jump-started the celebrations at Seoul’s Casa Loewe, Loewe’s first-ever outpost in South Korea, with an epic all-black outfit that radiated fun and whimsy.

We’d expect nothing less from the former Harper’s Bazaar cover star, who has etched out a niche for herself in the fashion world by never shirking away from a bold and innovative wardrobe.

The centerpiece of her Loewe party look was a flashy black leather dress trimmed with shaggy black fur. The sexy gown, which featured a backless silhouette and a thigh-high leg slit, upped the ante with a puffy leather shawl lined with yet more fur, which wrapped itself around Russell’s neck and down her chest. She finished off the look with black mule heels.

Russell has a long and fruitful relationship with the Spanish fashion house. Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson even personally anointed the Bones and All star to open the brand’s Spring 2023 show. “I just thought there was something about this precision in someone who is ultimately about the future of acting or the future of performance,” Anderson told Harper’s Bazaar in 2023.

In an interview for our February 2023 cover story, Russell explained her approach to fashion.

“I feel like a little kid being able to do all this stuff that I’m doing right now,” the actor said. “ ‘Why not just run around that playground?’ is how I feel. Let’s see how it shifts and evolves.”
