Sue Grayson Ford
About Me: I have enjoyed a successful arts career - founding London’s Serpentine Gallery, directing The Photographers’ Gallery and creating The Big Draw, a world-wide festival of drawing. I have an MBE for services to art and feel well-equipped to promote England’s brilliant cultural past and glorious artistic present.
Having also commissioned public art, I love showing off Britain’s ancient and modern monuments and sculptures – commemorating our heroines and heroes – and sharing little-known stories about them.
Botticelli to Brit-Art: Starting at the National Gallery and finishing at Tate Modern, I could add a private tour of the home of Henry Moore, a giant of 20th Century sculpture (whose 80th birthday exhibition I arranged). If clients want to see, or collect, up-and-coming artists, I can introduce them to other favourite galleries and artists’ studios.
I’m equally at home with the two Tates, V&A, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Wallace, Leighton House, Guildhall and Courtauld Collections. England has museums of everything, and having worked with many I can find one to match all interests!
Romans to Royals: My other speciality is time-travel for individuals, families and groups – from ancient Romans in the heart of London’s Square Mile to modern Royals in Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle.
Uniquely English: I revel in revealing the hidden histories which make England unique – whether in the capital or in Bath, the Cotswolds, Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon and Canterbury.
World-famous Wordsmiths: As an English Literature graduate, I’m eager for my clients to walk in the footsteps of William Shakespeare, Dickens, Dr Johnson, Jane Austen, Henry James, Virginia Woolf or T S Eliot.
London has some of the world’s best theatres and restaurants; as a frequent customer I can offer expert advice and secure tickets and reservations.
