Jane Hickey
Thank you for landing on my profile - I would love to show you around London and take you on day trips outside London. London is such a great city - there is always somewhere new to discover and explore. Whether you're new to London or an old timer, I can make your visit to London a memorable one.
We could go to Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, the National Gallery, the British Museum, the Tate Galleries, the Victoria & Albert Museum or the Wallace Collection. I can do highlights tours or more in-depth tours of these sites depending on the time available and your personal interests.
If you would like a walking tour, there are many to choose from, including the financial district of the City of London, Soho, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Chelsea, Westminster, Fleet Street, St James', Mayfair, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, the Royal Parks and Wimbledon. Themed walks include The Irish in London, Literary London, Royal London, Dickens' London and Financial London.
Out of London I am qualified to guide in Windsor, Hampton Court, Greenwich, Stratford-on-Avon, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, the Cotswolds, Canterbury and Oxford.

'Jane is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable on the subject matter (royal history) - how does she keep it all in her head?'
'Friendly, knowledgeable, engaging. Pitched well for our 13 year old daughter'.
'A consummate professional, incredibly well informed and also highly attuned to the wishes and mood of her clients.'
About me - I grew up in my father's hotel in Dublin, Ireland and despite early attempts to branch out I have consistently returned to the sector in various guises. After graduating in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Dublin, I moved to London qualifying as a chartered accountant with PWC where my clients included the InterContinentalHotel Group. Following a spell in finance with TrustHouse Forte Hotels, I returned to PWC working in their Tourism & Leisure Group looking at investment opportunities, hotel feasibility studies and development opportunities in the tourism sector. Having taken a career break to raise my 3 children, I undertook an intensive 2 year course qualifying as a Blue Badge tourist guide in 2011. I have since undertaken further courses in the City of London, Windsor & Eton and I am currently studying medieval art and architecture at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
I particularly enjoy working with school, student and family groups. My aim is to make sure everyone has a great time and comes away loving London as much as I do!
