Grace Barrett
Born in London and raised in Somerset, I moved back to the city as soon as I was able, and have lived in London for almost 20 years. For me, London is the greatest city on earth, and I am proud to call it my home.
I qualified as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide in 2021, and love using my guiding skills to show people the best parts of London. From Big Ben to Little Venice, Bleeding Heart Yard to Love Lane, and from the hipsters of Shoreditch to the Suits of the City, I love bringing London’s stories to life. As a fully qualified and insured Tourist Guide, I aim to provide the best in professional and fun tours.
With a background in design and a degree in Fine Art, I especially enjoy sharing the creative side of London, and its many glorious buildings and collections of art and design. 7 years of working in the tourism industry have given me the skills, connections, and knowledge to create and deliver fun, informative, and memorable tours for a variety of clients and themes. Whether you are a couple, a family, a school, or an incentive group – I am here to make your visit to London the best it can be!
I offer city-wide tours of the highlights of London, plus some special tours as well. Some of my favourites are on the themes of art, royal residences, and animals in London:
Art:
Take in the wonders of Western Art at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square: our national collection includes paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, JMW Turner, and Monet. Or marvel at the thought-provoking works in the Tate Modern, with pieces by Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, and Louise Bourgeois. If you fancy a more unusual experience, come with me to the houses of Sir John Soane and Frederick Lord Leighton, then hit the streets of East London for some vibrant street art – head over to Brick Lane to check out pieces by Banksy, Jimmy C, Stik, and many more.
Royal residences:
For centuries, London has been linked to the Royal Family. Come with me to explore the beauty and the brutality of the Tower of London – with almost 1,000 years of history, it has been home to many monarchs, including Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Today, you can meet the resident Beefeaters, and the cheeky ravens too! Or head over to the west of Hyde Park to visit Kensington Palace, home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and where both Lady Diana and Queen Victoria also used to live.
Windsor: I have the additional Windsor and Eton endorsement, achieved after an intensive course of study covering the history and culture of Windsor Castle, its surrounding town, and nearby Eton College and Runnymede, site of the sealing of the Magna Carta. I offer in-depth tours of the castle and its surroundings, with insight into the lives of the royals who have lived there for 1,000 years, and still do to this day. Visit the chapel where Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest, and the grand halls and banqueting rooms where monarchs past and present have entertained guests and dignitaries from all around the world.
