The beginning of the book reminded me of the story about Noah and Allie the characters from The Notebook novel. But the novel soon develops into a delightful and captivating read that doesn’t have so much similarities to the famous book except both books are real page turner. There are few twists in the story I definitely didn’t expect and the main characters Elisa and Marsh are beautifully described and easy to relate to....more

I have to admit I loved the book and once I started reading I couldn’t put the book down. I am a sucker for love stories but I read them so many that I have to admit I loved the book and once I started reading I couldn’t put the book down. I am a sucker for love stories but I read them so many that not many still keep my attention so intensely like the book Beautiful Potential. The main characters Finn and Gia ( I put Finn first because I’m in love with him ) are nicely characterised and there is a permanent pushing and pulling between them that doesn’t give you time to rest from the book until you realise it’s finished. And even though both characters work in the hospital and I really do not prefer the environment or even the profession much, just because I had a string of bad experiences with doctors and every time I imagine them in their scrubs my blood freezes. But because of the beautifully told story I didn’t mind the environment that was chosen for the book. I highly recommend for romance lovers....more

It turned out to be a well-wrtien, very entertaining readAs I’m on holiday I took something lighter to read and relax while my baby girl is sleeping. It turned out to be a well-wrtien, very entertaining read and I almost woke up my sleeping beauty with my laughter few times. The main characters Caroline, Annabel and Jill are nicely described women each having her own little love related adventure. Caroline and her fiancee Edward, who is a man every woman dreams about; they have a beautiful villa in Biarritz, where Jill meets and falls in love with Edward's surfing friend, Antoine. They have some language and geographical barriers to overcome but of course we root for them to succeed in their relationship. Then there is Annabel, Caroline's younger sister, who is married to Edward's friend Julian, and whose marriage is unraveling mostly due to her own lack of self-knowledge, I would say. The characters sometimes tell us their thoughts in monologues that are introspective and very interesting which make them more identifiable. The story involves people living in beautiful surroundings, moving between Edinburgh, Toulouse, Frankfurt, Biarritz, and London which is always attractive to read about, I mean about different locations, culture and habits. I enjoyed reading a book Hot Basque and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a easy holiday read. ...more
Very interesting and sweet memoir. Julia was passionate, real, fun person who didn’t take things too serious. Still she had her vision and the capacityVery interesting and sweet memoir. Julia was passionate, real, fun person who didn’t take things too serious. Still she had her vision and the capacity that was moving her toward that vision. She was in love with France, its people and of course French cooking, and she was on a mission to pass that love and passion onto her fellow Americans. Her husband was very encouraging of her endeavors and they shared affection for travel and the tastes of other cultures. I could relate to the relationship they had because I have similar relationship with my husband. Being from Europe I’ve been to France a few times and I can understand and love Julia’s enthusiasm. ...more
