My only gripe would be that Ryan’s flashbacks, though illustrating his of tormented state of mind well, were confusing/not clearly marked forcing me to go back to check for the last actual event.
The perfect build-up sexual tension followed by off-the-charts sexual scenes! A compelling hero! A thought-provoking and profound plot and journey! A message of hope!
Would I recommend this book: Yes. Would I re-read this book: Maybe later. Would I read future books by this author: Yes.

For me, having read book 1-3 first and already being familiar with Declan and Coraline, this novella was icing on the cake, and therefore a 5-star.

Ian and Francesca are introduced and she feels in instant attraction (recognizing he is out of her league) while he is intrigued, but reserved. He knows she is too innocent for the likes of him. Francesca is a bohemian; she is naïve, sweet and kind. She has a strained relationship with her parents, never quite measuring up. She lives with her three male roommates who are very protective of her. Ian, on the other hand, is the rich and extremely successful business mogul; he is enigmatic, worldly, handsome, sexy and oh so dominant and too “corrupted” for her. But there is much more to it, because Ian is full of secrets. For starters: The reception was not their first encounter. Four years prior Francesca had painted “The Cat That Walks By Himself”. As it turns out Ian had been the inspiration for that painting. She had been sad to have to sell it. And Ian had bought and tracked her down…
Ian tries to fight his attraction to Francesca, but it’s a losing battle and so their whirlwind romance begins, taking us across the ocean while Ian and Francesca get to know each other and have lot of scorching hot sex. But as Ian’s secrets are revealed, his mysterious past continues to cast shadows over their relationship. Their love is challenged and their future threatened.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ian’s & Francesca’s story. And I very much look forward to Lucien’s & Elise’s story in “When I'm With You”.

Layers Deep (book 1) opens up to rookie police officer Allie Green attending a meeting at her precinct. Cross Enterprises is looking to hire and her employer has allowing its CEO/Partner Tristan Cross to hand out applications (odd!).
Allie doesn’t apply for the job and later encounters Tristan at a bar where he tries to recruit her yet again. He knows entirely too much about her maybe even her secret. As it turns out both Allie and Tristan have secrets and an agenda. Allie is set on revenge and Tristan on righting a wrong.
Soon they find themselves peeling off the layers of each other secrets as well as clothing as they get hot and heavy in the bedroom. All while on a dangerous mission.
Six words to describe Allie Green: Smart, determined, immature, conflicted, confident and reckless.
Layers Deep ended with a cliffy so it’s a good idea to have book 2, Layers Peeled handy. Story had a bit of the insta-thing going. I also had several logistics and time line issues, such as why/how did Tristan zero in on Allie? I’m jumping over to my ARC of book 2, for some answers and the conclusion to their story.
Scorching sex scenes with a very skilled and accommodating Tristan! Suspenseful and dangerous plot! And after that cliffy I’m rooting for Tristan and Allie to get their HEA! 3.5 stars!

At first glance The Wild Side (part 1) is a story about a midlife crisis of sorts. 40-year old successful writer and divorce, Alasdair Masters, Dair gave up on his social life and became a recluse after being cheated on. He is going about his daily routine of working out and taking care of his body when a mysterious young girl, Iris starts timing her workouts to his followed by blatant come-ons. Alasdair fights his attraction, but quickly succumbs and pretty much becomes a rutting horn dog.
Needless to say their sex is off-the-charts…
But as I was getting to this story is so much more than that! Alasdair, from a privileged background had an horrible adolescence and upon marrying at age eighteen an unsatisfying marriage, details to unfold with story. As story progresses we are given a better understanding why a man as handsome, successful, kind, and caring would become sex obsessed forgoing all common sense.
The Wild Side is about sexual awaking and finding oneself. Strap on your seatbelt, bumpy road ahead!
I am hoping as the story progresses and Alasdair Masters, Dair finds himself and his self-confidence we’ll see more of his alpha side. Currently he has been lead around by his cock. Seven words to describe Dair: Charismatic, insecure, self-depraving, broken, complex, lovable and focused.
Iris is an enigma, but hopefully we’ll learn more about her in part 2. Seven words to describe Iris: Secretive, elusive, captivating, caring, seductive, charismatic and slippery.
The Wild Side is very much a wild ride of sexual exploration and borderline obsession. Story moves at breakneck speed only to come to a shocking, yet expected cliff-hanger. I cannot wait for more of their story to unfold in, part 2, Iris.
