Sad to say. not what it used to be.
This course isn’t the top notch course I remembered it to be. Pace of play this Saturday was so slow it was maddening. The course is not being kept up. It’s not worth the price to play here when there are better options nearby. Staff and cart girl were nice. The environment is over grown and construction debris mars the scenery.
Very nice course
A friend recommended this course. While not directly on the ocean there were plenty of ocean views. The course has a lot of elevation changes. Fairways and greens were in very good shape. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Rental club price was a little steep but were Talylormade Stealth in very good condition. The 2 sleeves if ball and free divot tool and ball markers was a nice touch. We got a nice deal booking at noon and a further discount booking online about a month ahead of time which made up for the steep club rental. Goats were fun to watch too!
Nice course, needs sand
Challenging layout, great condition. Sandtraps were hard dirt--not gonna lie, that was disappointing. Goats 🐐 on every hole lol
Awesome experience!
Great course with scenic views! Excellent condition from tee to green and luv the goats!
Nice Views
The staff was very nice and helpful to someone who’s never played there before. The course was very nice and had some nice views of the island. Greens were in excellent condition. A lot of goats around the course, but they don’t bother you.
Awesome golf and island views
I had a great time playing a round at Hapuna. The course was in good shape. Tee boxes were well kept and greens were challenging but not over the top. Pace of play was excellent. No golfers pushing and none in front. Free range balls included as well as complimentary waters. Will play again. The cost of the round was reasonable due to GolfNow pricing discounts.
Greens and goats
Loved the immaculate greens and wild goats that are all over the course. Beautiful golf layout and wonderful views of the ocean. Amazing time
Great views
Great views from the course.
Course is challenging without being too hard for an average golfer. Bring a few balls.
Perfect Golf Day!
Playing the Hapuna course equates to a perfect day of golf! If you’re staying at the Westin, then the Hapuna course is a must. The course is always in excellent condition and the staff is friendly - highly recommend!
Nice views and a great course
Challenging course on the hillside above the Westin Hapuna Resort. Drink plenty of water as the course is often warm. Excellent course conditions. Greens are on the fast side. One of my favorite courses here on the big island.
Tough first time
Greens were perfect and fast, for first time playing it was a little tough to know where to hit blind shots, lots of climbing. Bring a few extra golf balls.
Really fun layout
First time here...great layout friendly staff and awesome views.
The day we played the winds were sustained at 30mph. The front nine was predominantly into the wind and up hill, the opposite for the back nine.
Back nine was a blast... a few of the par 4s become driveable from the resort tees (6,050), and the par 5s can be driver wedge.
The only negative I would say is as a first timer not knowing the landing areas or protected areas make it a tougher outing.
Overall, I'd come nack for sure.
Wind and elevation
A lot of elevation changes on this course. It is short but when the wind blows here it adds difficulty. Greens were in good shape and pretty fast. Bring a hybrid club for a lot of tee shots as a driver will get you in trouble if too long.
