Greywolf Golf Course
About
Greywolf is a dramatic risk-reward course that was designed by award-winning golf architect Doug Carrick. The 6th hole, which lures golfers across a canyon to a clifftop green, illustrates why Greywolf has received raves for exciting play. So unique is the "Cliffhanger", Greywolf was actually designed around it. With water on 14 holes and panoramic viewpoints everywhere, Carrick says, "There are 18 signature holes at this course."

Greywolf Golf Course
Surrounded by panoramic views of the Purcell mountains, the Greywolf Golf Course has been entertaining golfers since 1999. I had to rummage through old photo albums to see when I last played here. Wow, can't believe I was last here in 2000, one year after it opened. Course architect Doug Carrick took advantage of the setting and the natural changes in elevation to create this 18-hole mountain course which offers challenges for players of all levels. Tee times this morning were pushed back by a 30 minute frost delay. That was fine as it meant a few more minutes to make use of the driving range and the practice putting green. By 10:45 it was warming up nicely, the sun was out and to quote a line from a Bob Dylan tune, "I'm looking up into the sapphire tinted skies". Perfect weather.
A par 72 course, Greywolf offers great variety with distracting views, elevated tees and alpine landscapes that include water hazards, streams and bunkers. Tee boxes are large, flat and well looked after. The fairways are extremely generous, wide green ribbons that carve their way through mature trees, valleys and rolling terrain. Cart paths are paved and in good order and show no sign of neglect. The bunkers number around 67, were well groomed and are seemingly placed in all the right spots. The greens are very well proportioned, played firm and putts were rolling at predictable speeds and pace throughout all 18 holes. The rough was a manageable 2-3 inches. Pace of play for the day moved well with an occasional short delay.
The course is renowned for its signature 6th hole called Cliffhanger, a picturesque Par 3 that sits 200 yards across a chasm to a postage stamp green planted on the end of a spit of land. There are seventeen other holes that stand up on their own. Holes 1, 4, 11, 12, 15 and 17 are memorable.
Greywolf Golf Course delivers in all areas, well stocked pro shop, friendly staff, fantastic scenery, a challenging but fair test of golf with above average course conditioning. In 2023 it ranked 8th in SCOREGolf Canada's top 59 Public Courses, down 2 spots from 6th place in 2021.

Greywolf is gold
A truly magnificent mountain golf experience.
This is a visually stunning golf course with magnificent and challenging, but fair, golf holes.
Everything about Greywolf is excellent..from the friendly staff, the clubhouse, the merchandise and the food.
A VISUAL TREAT!!!
If you are looking to play a visually stunning golf course, this is the place! Take your cell phone along for pics, videos of this course. Set at the base of a ski slope, on many holes, you can see you ball in flight against the slope of the mountain. This is so neat! Many good challenging holes! The restaurant, bar is nice overlooking the course as well. Every time we visit the Kootenay Rockies we schedule this course!
Simply amazing course in the Rocky Mountains
From tee off to the final putt, GreyWolf never disappointed. Panoramic views and the freshest of air really created an unbelievable golf experience. Manicured to the highest level and very challenging. The wild life we saw on many holes added to the splendor.
Well worth the short drive to play. We stayed right across the street in one of the many rentals properties which made it so easy to golf 3 rounds in 3 days.
5 star!
Best course in the valley!
We played this course for the first time 5 years ago on our annual golf trip and have not missed it since. There are so many potential signature holes it’s hard to pick a favourite. Excellent condition from the first day throughout the season. Layout, value and service level are all top notch. The Rocky Mountain views are unmatched. A must play if you are anywhere in the region.
Amazing every time
I’ve played it four times and it’s gets better every time! The only course that rivals it in the area is Banff Spings, but for half the price how can you go wrong. Play it!
Worth a trip when in BC
Some of the most spectacular golf scenery one can find in the Canadian Rockies. The 6th hole defies description (or gravity!), Reminds me of a classic Bud Chapman "fantasy golf hole " poster.
Course condition is immaculate, and greens are second to none. I noticed that they weren't very receptive to approach shots because several shots left little or no pitch marks and carried 10-20 yards farther than I had anticipated. Experience playing this course many times probably helps with proper club selection.
Holes all seem unique and have at least one or two salient features. Elevation changes on a few holes must be seen to be believed.
Even though this is a resort-style course with luxury housing developments along several holes, it still is primarily a ski resort and most holes are undeveloped w/r/t houses since they either adjoin the ski slopes or butt up against terrain that is too steep/rugged on which to build or ski.
A bucket list course that I've been fortunate to play twice now.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
You must play this course at least once in your life!
Nice Resort Course
Very nice course but there were a few holes I found a little silly. They had a crossover so the front nine was a great pace and then we spent 3 hours on the back which left a sour taste in my mouth
