Each fuse is designed to handle a specific amount of current, and if the current exceeds this limit, the fuse will blow (or melt), breaking the circuit and preventing further damage. Prevent Electrical Fires: By disconnecting the circuit when there’s an overload, fuses help prevent overheating and potential electrical fires. This is crucial for safety, as electrical faults can lead to dangerous situations. Safeguard Components: Fuses protect sensitive electrical components and systems within your vehicle, such as the radio, headlights, and air conditioning. Without fuses, these components could be damaged by power surges or short circuits. HOW THEY WORK Current Flow: Electrical current flows through the fuse, which contains a thin metal wire or strip designed to handle a certain amount of current. Overload: If the electrical current exceeds the fuse’s rating, the metal wire or strip inside the fuse will heat up and eventually melt or break.
