A slimmer has shared the top three hacks that helped her transform her body

Most people trying to lose weight are familiar with the adage 'cut the calories and you'll lose a few pounds'.

Restriction can prove counter-productive, however, as often slimmers cave into their cravings eventually.

Jess, who has documented her weight loss transformation on the TikTok page @thedevondiet, succeeded with the help of a different approach.

The content creator disclosed that the bulk of her weight came off over 18 to 24 months.

To help others succeed, she shared the most valuable lessons she’s learnt along the way.

“Number one, I’ve stopped demonising foods," she told her followers. “There are no good foods or bad foods. There are just some foods that are better nutritionally for you.

“If I want some chocolate, if I want a burger, if I want anything, that’s fine. It’s not a bad food. I just understand that some foods have less nutritional value."

The second hack that Jess discovered involves adding a nutrient-dense side dish to every meal.

“If I want some crisps or I want some chocolate, I will absolutely, but I will potentially have it with a side of yoghurt and flaxseed, or some nutrient-dense food like broccoli," she said.

“So I will eat what I want and add what I need, something that will keep me fuller for longer, for example.”

Moving onto the third lesson, Jess stressed the importance of listening to your body.

“You get taught growing up to finish your plate of food, or you can’t have pudding unless you've finished your main meal,” Jess explained.

“Now I will eat until I’m 80 to 90 per cent full and I will stop, even if there’s two pieces of pasta left on my plate.

“Or I will put it in the fridge and I can have it later or tomorrow, there is nothing that can’t be saved. Once you’re full; stop.”

Before embarking on your weight loss journey, the content creator recommends brainstorming to identify the healthy foods you enjoy the most.

“I think no matter what your goals are, it’s really important to eat foods that you enjoy," she said. "So find nutritionally-dense meals that you enjoy.”

It should be noted that no two cases of weight loss are the same. What's more, no diet enables fat shedding without regular exercise.

The key to long-term results is finding the approach that is most sustainable for your goals.
