Garrett Motorsport Is In Our DNA

From the world’s most famous racetracks, rally courses, mountain curves and everywhere in between, our most state-of-the-art technologies are forged in the crucible of top level racing to deliver the highest quality products. Motorsport is our real-world laboratory at Garrett, one we have used for decades.

For 23 consecutive years and counting, Garrett has supported every winning team at the world’s most famous endurance race – the 24 Hours of Le Mans – with industry leading technology and engineering expertise, continually evolving the strategy and enhancing products to meet the ever-rising challenges drivers face. These challenges exist for every race event – Formula 1®, Formula 2®, FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, FIA World Rally Championship, Super Formula, Super GT, and more. . . and Garrett Motorsport continues to innovate at every turn.

In Motorsport, we know there is no luxury of time; timelines are measured in hours, days, and weeks, rather than weeks, months, and years as is standard in vehicle development. Technology must be developed at warp speed – from season to season, and even race to race.

Product Comparison

Motorsport turbochargers are engineered and hand-built for each OE manufacturer’s program requirements and budget. Garrett engineers match compressor and turbine wheel aero based on engine parameters and pair it with the appropriate bearing system that can support the temperatures and turbo speeds. End housings can be designed for precise packaging and connection geometry requirements. Motorsport turbochargers are ~60% lighter than off-the-shelf production products thanks to thin-wall end housings with optional exotic materials.

Motorsport technology and know-hows flow into series production performance products like G Series and GTX Gen II. Series production performance turbochargers are available for non-OE Motorsport programs and supported globally by the Garrett distributor network. Engineered to support a range of horsepower and engine displacement, and therefore considered universal-fit because of the wide array of options, and end housing combinations available. Garrett is one of few manufacturers to subject series production turbos to OEM qualification tests to ensure safety and reliability.
