1st June 2024- 'THE CHONK' Raffle

Game Therapy UK Huge thanks to our pals at Critical Kit who raffled their Chonk Dice (which Steve Cox, the chairman of TAG-UK (our military veterans project) had signed by Sir Ian Livingstone, Luke Gygax, Critical Roll, No Rolls Barred and Role Britannia. 

The money raised will be allocated to our military veterans project.

31 May-2nd June 2024- UK Games Expo, Birmingham NEC

Game Therapy UK will have a stand at UK Games Expo51, at Birmingham NEC. Do pop over and have a chat with our volunteers.

We also be presented 'The definitive Guide to Therapeutic Gaming' at 10am on 31 May 24 with Dr Ian Baker (Derby Uni), David Coulter (occupational therapist), Lucas Maxwell (librarian and author), Dr Joe Stammeijer (forensic psychiatrist),  Finbar Westall (neurodivergence coach).

Stand Up for Game Therapy UK
 

Another great night at our third fabulous fundraiser, a fantastic night of comedy at The Comedy Store, Leicester Square. There will be another incredible line-up of top comedians with all money raised going to support Game Therapy UK.

The line-up will soon be announced, so follow us on newsletter and socials, but check the previous years shows below! It's going to be another cracking night.

May 16 2024 Games Aid/ Barclays Bank Gamez Frenzy

Thrilled to receive £30,000 donation from GamesAid to fund our Young Persons projects for 2024-25. 

Also, delighted to be informed that we have been selected by GamesAid members to be recepient charity for funding in 2025-26. 

Huge thank you to GamesAid and all of it's members. We will be sharing details of our Young Persons projects here.

March 27th 2024- British Academic Conference on Therapeutic Gaming

Game Therapy UK hosts the first British Academic Conference on Therapeutic Gaming with 'Dungeons & Dragons in Higher Eduction'. This FREE EVENT will be a hybrid event and can be attended both face-to-face and online.

2nd December 2023- Dragonmeet

Game Therapy UK had a blast at Dragonmeet. Huge thanks to our volunteers and all the folk we chatted to.   

Special thanks to the legend LUKE GYGAX who kindly signed the Critical Kit 'chonk' dice which is to be auctioned for the charity. 

We were also thrilled to win the IAN LIVINGSTONE INNOVATION IN GAMES AWARD and have it presented to our chairman Gary Colman by Sir IAN LIVINGSTONE CBE, founder of Games Workshop, Warhammer, Fighting Fantasy and White Dwarf

27-29th October 2023 MCM Comic Con

Game Therapy UK had a blast at MCM Comic Con at London Excel. Huge thanks to our volunteers and all the folk we chatted to.  
 

And a huge thanks to Chris from Critical Kit for the 'chonk' dice that Steve Cox, our volunteer and Chair of our veterans group TAG, managed to get signed by Critical Role! Proceeds from the raffle will go to Game Therapy UK TAG project

Delighted to announce the launch of Tactical Advance to Game (TAG)- the online TTRPG club supporting military veterans and serving personnel.
  

 July 2023

Delighted to announce that we have been selected as one the charities to receive support from Games Aid this year. 

This will be a huge help in allowing us to deliver therapeutic gaming projects to young people in 2023. 

 10th-11th June 2023

Huge thanks to Fantasy Guild Hall who ran a charity TTRPG event, where a proportion of the proceeds went to Game Therapy UK. 

Big thanks to all the players, GMs, and the very generous Claire Starey of Fantasy Guild Hall.

We presented our findings of our Camden (London) project on therapeutic gaming for people experiencing homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction and survivors of modern day slavery at the International Symposium on Homeless Health Pathways from Homelessness London on the 17th March 2022.

One of our trustees, Gary Colman, talks to Kaye Adams on BBC Radio Scotland about 'Session Zero', a documentary by Glaswegian filmmaker Carina Haouchine  about how playing Dungeons & Dragons helped her brothers Sam and his pals cope with autism.
