Trailer for Horror Series 'Tales from the Void' Telling 'No Sleep' Stories

Tales from the Void Series Trailer

"I can't let it hurt my family!" Screambox has revealed the official trailer for their new horror anthology series called Tales from the Void, which will be streaming this month on the Screambox service. Ready to be scared? Tales from the Void is an episodic horror anthology series based on the most viral and haunting stories from the r/NoSleep community. With episodes directed by genre filmmakers Joe Lynch, Francesco Loschiavo, Maritte Lee Go, and John Adams & Toby Poser. They explain the concept: "For Tales From The Void, we curated a really special selection of No Sleep stories. Great horror stories can come from anywhere on No Sleep, whether from an established writer or even a first-time author, and we really wanted to have that ethos make it to the screen. Each week showcasing a new subgenre of horror celebrating the breadth and depth of the genre." This series initially premiered at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival and will be out to watch online very soon. These all look really freaky. I need to watch the one with the ominous black square.

Watch: Caleb Landry Jones' Animated Music Videos by Aidan Stadler

Caleb Landry Jones' Animated Music Videos

Time to rock with Caleb Landry Jones! These two animated music videos initially premiered last month but we're just now catching up with them - and they're too damn cool to pass up. Aside from acting (in DogMan, Harvest), Caleb Landry Jones also has a rock band and creates music as well. His latest album is called "Hey Gary, Hey Dawn" and it's out to listen to now if you're curious. To celebrate the release of a new deluxe edition, CLJ created two short music videos featuring some eclectic drawings that are animated and brought to life. The drawings are by CLJ himself, turned into music videos by the animation creator named Aidan Stadler. The videos are just about 1 minute each & very entertaining to watch - check out both below. "With a blend of intensity, vulnerability, and musical virtuosity, Jones invites listeners to embark on a journey that transcends traditional genres, promising an immersive experience that lingers long after the final note." 🎸

Full Trailer for Sci-Fi Monster Movie 'Elevation' with Anthony Mackie

Elevation Trailer

"They're Earth's new apex predators – but one day we're gonna beat them." Vertical has debtued the full official trailer for a thrilling sci-fi horror movie called Elevation, a post-apocalyptic creature feature which was filmed in Colorado last year at some empty ski resort. It's directed by George Nolfi (of The Adjustment Bureau, The Banker) and has a November release date - opening nationwide in theaters everywhere (teaser trailer here). Set in the post-apocalyptic Rocky Mountains, a single father and two women venture from the safety of their homes to face monstrous creatures to save the life of a young boy. This action sci-fi monster movie stars Anthony Mackie, Morena Baccarin, and Maddie Hasson. This trailer reveals that the title is related to these alien(?) monsters not being able to go above the elevation of 8,000ft (or 2,438m) hence why hanging out up in the Colorado mountains is a good idea. This looks like it should be entertaining, but I'm most curious to find out what these giant monsters are / where they came from. Anyone want to watch?

Thomas Vinterberg's 'Families Like Ours' Refugee Series Official Trailer

'Families Like Ours Trailer

"Hold me tight while your still beats and warms." Studiocanal has revealed the full trailer for an intriguing series called Families Like Ours, made by acclaimed Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (director of The Hunt, The Commune, Another Round). It just premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in their "Series" section, and debuts streaming in Denmark (more countries later) in October. In a not-too-distant future, Denmark faces total evacuation due to rising water levels (climate change is definitely going to ruin everything whether we like it or not). As the nation of ~6 million people prepares to leave their homes, high school student Laura must choose between her divorced parents and the boy she's fallen in love with. It's a clever flip on the refugee crisis the world is experiencing already - what if wealthy, white people in Denmark had to flee their homes and move to other countries. What would happen? The full ensemble cast includes Amaryllis August, Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Paprika Steen, David Dencik, Helene Reingaard Neumann, Magnus Millang, Esben Smed, Thomas Bo Larsen, Asta Kamma August. This is an intense, riveting thriller about how disruptive it is to have to find somewhere else to live.

Trailer for Huluween Movie 'Carved' About a Sentient Killer Pumpkin

Carved Trailer

"Do you mind if I carve it?" 🎃 They carved the wrong pumpkin... Hulu has revealed an official trailer for a horror movie called Carved, one of their next Huluween offerings this October during the annual horror season. This one was also originally a short film for the Huluween Film Fest, which has been developed and turned into a full-length feature. Hulu is also debuting Mr. Crocket this month as part of their offerings. In Carved, a group of survivors finds themselves trapped inside a historical reenactment village on Halloween, where they must unite to battle a sentient, vengeful pumpkin. Scary! The film stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Corey Fogelmanis, Wyatt Lindner, Carla Jimenez, DJ Qualls, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur, Sasha Mason, Jonah Lees, Matty Cardarople, Elvis Nolasco, and Jackson Kelly. The practical FX of the pumpkin look pretty gnarly, but the rest of this looks awful. All of the characters are so cheesy and idiotic, none of this looks that fun unfortunately. Nice premise for a horror movie, but this one does not look good.

Another Trailer for Olympic Gymnast Doc 'Simone Biles Rising' - Part 2

Simone Biles Rising Part 2 Trailer

"The goal is to win the Olympics – and then we'll see." Netflix has launched the brand new trailer for the continuation of the sports doc series called Simone Biles Rising, from director Katie Walsh. Part 2 is now ready to release later in October, featuring an update on Simone after she won another 4 medals (including 3 golds - for a grand total of 11 Olympic medals) at the 2024 Paris Olympics just a few months ago. They explain: "Part 2 of Simone Biles Rising follows along as she competes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials & officially qualifies for the U.S. Olympic Team to her incredible performances in Paris, all the while sharing personal thoughts and moments of her incredible journey to become the most decorated gymnast in history." This sports doc series began with "Part 1" debuting in July in the summer just before the games kicked off. "Witness unprecedented access to one of the most powerful comebacks in sports in Simone Biles Rising. Journey into the world of Simone as she grapples with vulnerability and self-doubt, redefining what it means to be a "champion" on her own terms." This looks even more than suspensful than the first part.

Time Travel Slasher Horror Film 'Time Cut' Trailer with Madison Bailey

Time Cut Trailer

"We're not altering the future, we're just giving it a make-over." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a time travel slasher horror movie called Time Cut, arriving to watch on Netflix at the end of October in just a few weeks. "To stop this killer, they'll need to rewrite history." Didn't we already see this? Haven't they already done a time travel slasher before? From the producers of Freaky, also a twisted high school horror concept, in Time Cut a teenage girl travels back to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer from murdering her sister. A teen in 2024 accidentally time-travels to 2003, days before a masked killer murders her sister. Can she change the past without destroying the future? Probably. This stars Madison Bailey & Antonia Gentry, with Michael Shanks, and Griffin Gluck, plus Rachael Crawford, Jordan Pettle, Megan Best, Samuel Braun, Sydney Sabiston, and Kataem O'Connor. Why does this main girl look & sound exactly like Zendaya? There's an escalator kill in this? As fun as it seems, this looks so cheap & cheesy. Nah.

Full Trailer for 'The Shadow Strays' Gnarly Indonesian Martial Arts Film

The Shadow Strays Trailer

"We are here to neutralize, not to help or negotiate." Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for The Shadow Strays, the latest action film from Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto. It just premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival in Midnight Madness and will be streaming on Netflix on October 17th this month. Codename 13, a 17-year-old assassin, is suspended due to a sloppy mission in Japan. But she meets 11-year-old Monji, who loses his mother, and decides to save him. Aurora Ribero stars as 13 – an assassin determined to rescue a child from a crime syndicate, even if it means going against her own mentor. "Not since The Night Comes for Us has Indonesia's preeminent architect of ultra-violent action, Timo Tjahjanto, conducted such a meticulous martial arts massacre. Opening with a bravura set piece laying waste to dozens of yakuza, his latest proceeds as a kind of taxonomy of the action genre with a string of sword fights, shoot-em-ups, and old-fashioned fisticuffs..." It also stars Hana Pitrashata Malasan and Taskya Namya. The footage looks pretty good, I'm ready to watch and dive in. Hoping for even more unforgettable fight scenes.

Max's Scooby-Doo 'Velma' Animated Series Halloween Special Trailer

Velma: This Halloween Needs to be More Special Trailer

"It's spooky season and there’s a new mystery to solve in Crystal Cove." Max has revealed an official trailer for the Velma series Halloween special, arriving to watch later this month - starting October 3rd. Yep, this animated series is still going. The one-off horror episode is titled in full Velma: This Halloween Needs to be More Special. Velma and her crew scramble to find a sinister spellbook within 24 hours to resurrect her, dodging a malevolent spirit's fury. As the Sexy Halloween bash looms, they must confront their deepest terrors, fighting for their lives. Featuring the voices of Mindy Kaling as Velma, Glenn Howerton, Sam Richardson, & Constance Wu. We posted trailers for this series last year when it debuted, I thought that would be the last we'd hear of it (especially with really bad reviews). They also have the next Season 2 in the works, with this Halloween special kicking things off before continuing. Is anyone even watching this series?

Official Trailer for Australian Doc 'The Pool' on Bondi Icebergs Pool

The Pool Trailer

"There is not another pool like this pool." Madman Australia has revealed the official trailer for a new documentary film called The Pool, an entrancing looking at the famous Bondi Beach pool. This premiered at the 2024 Sydney Film Festival (naturally) and will open in Australian cinemas this November. A stunning cinematic experience with a soundtrack harking back to the 1960s. The film speaks to the enduring power of community and our collective longing to find it. At Bondi Icebergs, no matter your background, everyone is equal in their swimsuits. The film examines the iconic Bondi Icebergs Pool (find it on Google Maps), a spectacular pool located right on the beach rocks that is one of the most photographed pools in the world. "Icebergs is at once a meeting place, a resting place, a workout place and a place of romance and ritual. We come to understand that for those who seek it out, and return, it is a symbol of inclusivity, healing and of resilience." It seems like an entertaining & fun look at what makes this pool & its swimming club so special.

Full Trailer for One-Long-Take Horror Thriller 'MadS' Made in France

Mads Horror Film Trailer

"Contamination complete." Shudder has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror called MADS, also written as MadS. That title doesn't tell you much (the Romanian title translates to Nightmare Night) but this is an intense, kinetic new horror thriller. It's another one-long-take film, taking place with one shot that goes on non-stop through the entire 89 minute runtime. A teen goes to his dealers getting a wild new drug before a night of partying. When he picks up an injured woman on the way home, things take a bizarre and surreal turn. With Lewkowski Yovel, Laurie Pavy, Lucille Guillaume. The "choice to shoot this film in a single shot stems from the desire to make this hallucinatory journey as authentic as possible," they state. "Every scene, every emotion, is experienced in real-time, with no possibility of escape – an unparalleled plunge into this altered state of consciousness. [It] becomes much more than a technical feat. It becomes the indispensable tool for anchoring the spectator in this ghost-train, where the bad trip becomes palpable, real, and overwhelming." What a pitch! This is one hell of an intense and entertaining movie - check it out below.
