Community
Guidelines

Eventbrite brings together a diverse community of millions of people to discover a variety of live experiences around the globe. The integrity of our platform is something we take very seriously. We developed these Community Guidelines to describe the types of events, activities, and content that we encourage on Eventbrite, and the types that aren’t allowed. These Community Guidelines are incorporated into the larger and more comprehensive Eventbrite Terms of Service.

Capitalized terms that have not been defined here, such as ‘Organizer', ‘User’, and ‘Services', have the same definitions that Eventbrite uses in the Terms of Service. We have the discretion to remove or restrict access to any content we determine violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. To learn more about Eventbrite's Legal Terms, take a look here.

Building a Brite Community

Eventbrite is a place where anyone can create or find live experiences that fuel their passions. As a platform that values diverse opinions and a vibrant community, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful platform for the organization and discovery of live events.

We encourage you to create events of all kinds that bring your community together - whether you’re interested in wine, email marketing, dance or coding. We ask that your content celebrates different cultures, countries and voices, and is your own or procured appropriately. To make your event as authentic, respectful, inclusive, and safe as possible, read our Best Practices for a High Quality Event Listing guide.

To help you understand what we do not allow on Eventbrite, we created this set of Community Guidelines. The list isn't exhaustive, and we may add to it or improve upon it, so it is important that you continue to check in on any modifications or updates frequently.

How to Flag Violating Content

Our goal is to promote a safe and respectful community. If you learn of any content that may violate these Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service, please use the Report This Event link in the event's footer, or in the case of violating content other than event listings, contact us right away. We will review each report, and depending on the nature of the report, we may or may not follow up with you.

Eventbrite’s Process for Review

We will review the content to determine if it violates these Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service. If the content was reported directly to us, we consider any additional details provided by the reporter, as well as information readily available outside Eventbrite’s marketplace about the organizers, sponsors, partners, and speakers, such as content on their websites and social media and activity at prior events.

If the content is determined to violate our policies, we may remove only the relevant content, take down the entire event listing, or take alternative action that we determine to be appropriate given the circumstances surrounding the content. Note that certain content, while not in violation of our Community Guidelines, may not be appropriate for our community. In these cases, we may make the content private or otherwise reduce its distribution or prominence. If the abuse of our Services is serious and severe (in our sole evaluation), which can include repeatedly posting illegal content or repeatedly submitting unfounded complaints, we may also suspend or terminate the associated Eventbrite account.

If we believe there is a legitimate risk of physical harm to someone or a group of people, or direct threats to public safety, we not only take action on our site but will also work with law enforcement, as appropriate and at our discretion. This includes issuing reports of child sexual abuse material to authorities such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger as a result of content posted on Eventbrite, please first contact your local law enforcement agency. Once you've reported the issue to law enforcement, click here to report the issue directly to Eventbrite.

We truly value your feedback and the opportunity to hear from our community. It's important to remember that Eventbrite encourages a diverse, global community. Content that you find offensive or controversial may not violate our Community Guidelines, and thus your report may not result in your desired action. For more details on how we moderate content, take a look here.

If you believe we've taken incorrect action on your content, please let us know by replying to our email within 6 months of the decision. Per the Digital Services Act, if you are an EU resident, you can appeal our decision, whether related to your content or content you've reported, here.
