Kourtney Kardashian is pooshing back the curtains on her motherhood journey.
In fact, the reality star got very hands-on after giving birth to her and Travis Barker's son Rocky in November. Opting for attachment parenting—a child-rearing method encouraging physical touch between the mother and infant, including extended breastfeeding and co-sleeping—Kourtney chose to stay at home with her baby boy for 40 days so they could bond.
"In many different cultures, women don't leave the house after having a baby for 40 days to let your body have that time to heal," Kourtney shared during the June 27 episode of The Kardashians. "And beyond that, I'm really into attachment parenting. I really don't separate from him."
Sharing that she's created a "blissful baby bubble" at home for herself and Rocky, the 45-year-old continued, "I feel like my time is dedicated to taking care of my baby and bonding with him."
That's why Kourtney—who also shares kids Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9, with ex Scott Disick—is in no rush to lose the weight she gained during her pregnancy with Rocky.
"My priority is not bouncing back and getting my body back in shape like it has been in the past," she said in a confessional. "I remember after having Mason, it used to be a really big thing to talk about how soon can you bounce back."
Now, instead of "stressing myself out to eat a certain diet," Kourtney said her focus is "all about just nourishing and eating the best food to keep up my milk supply."
"I care to get back," she added at the time, "but I'm breastfeeding so I'm taking my time."
And Kourtney is no stranger to attachment parenting. After all, that was the philosophy she relied on during Penelope and Reign's early days.
"We didn't leave the house for the first 40 days," the Poosh founder recounted to Vogue in an October 2023 interview. "After, you're super-connected and I love that."
