English Heritage has a collection of 21 historic holiday cottages, from an old buttress within the walls of Dover Castle, to a Victorian gatehouse located in the grounds of one of England's finest stately homes and many more, each cottage is unique in its own way. Experience staying at one of our sites and you’ll have exclusive out-of-hours grounds access during your stay. You’ll also be able to visit other English Heritage sites for free as a holiday guest.

• No 1 Sovereign’s Gate located within the grounds of Osborne on the Isle of Wight, this cottage sleeps within the formal entrance used by royalty to access Osborne.

• Peacock Cottage set in the grounds of Kirby Hall in the Northamptonshire countryside, this cottage is the perfect bolthole to explore one of England's greatest Elizabeth and 17th century house. 

• Priors Lodge is located in the grounds of Mount Grace Priory in North Yorkshire and enjoys views of the spectacular ruins of this Carthusian Monastery, as well as the gardens and parkland.

• Pavilion Cottage makes a relaxing stay with spacious rooms and high ceilings. Enjoy your own private veranda and a short treelined walk to the palace.
