And 80% of these users are considered active. 92 million are located in Brazil, and currently there aren’t any users outside of Latin America—which raises questions about Nubank’s ability to expand beyond the region. And given the challenges of buying or becoming a bank in the US, it likely won’t enter that market soon.

India and Latin America will stand out, as usual. Now that China’s era of seemingly universal high growth across all categories has ended, the next exciting markets are India and Latin America. For sub OTT, Brazil, Mexico, India, and Argentina will round out the top five for viewer growth in 2024 and in 2025, trailing only Indonesia both years.

And then basically too, I mean when you think about Latino as well, that can also, in some instances it's referring to people from Latin America, sometimes include Brazil, where we have that Portuguese aspect as well. Among internet users, podcasts will essentially be just as popular in Latin America as in Western Europe (28.2% versus 30.3% in 2023). Outside of China, most of the fastest podcast growth in the world will come from Latin America for the next several years.

Latin America will leapfrog North America for the top spot among internet users in 2024. Among the countries we break out, only South Korea exceeds the US in both penetration metrics. South Korea, the US, and Canada will be the top three countries for digital gaming among the population overall, with Brazil a close fourth.

What’s more, Asia-Pacific will remain the third-fastest-growing region (3.6%)—behind the Middle East and Africa (6.0%) and Latin America (4.2%).
