Full Boarding Fees
These cover the cost of tuition, pastoral care, accommodation, all meals and break times during the full School day, laundry, personal accident insurance, the majority of educational materials and some stationery for each subject, and academic and enrichment trips as part of the curriculum. Also included is participation in School-run enrichment activities such as our extensive lecture and DH LINKS programmes, choirs and orchestras, and School productions, together with sports coaching and training. Also included is transport to and from sports fixtures, as well as many exciting activities run as part of our co-curricular and weekend activities programmes.
Full Boarders stay seven nights a week in their Boarding House with the option to go home on Saturday afternoon after their commitments are met.
Flexi Boarding Fees – available from September 2025
These cover the same as Full Boarding Fees (see above) but includes accommodation for four (rather than seven) nights per week.
Flexi Boarders can stay up to four nights a week in their Boarding House; the number of overnight stays can be adjusted each week, with an extra charge for additional nights stayed.
Day Fees
These include all of the above with the exception of accommodation and laundry.
Day Pupils have access to all day, evening and weekend activities but do not stay overnight. Separate facilities are provided for Day Pupils in the Upper School; in the Lower School and Sixth Form, Day Pupils are integrated into our Boarding Houses.
Fees are charged in advance at the start of each term. For more information about Downe House fees and charges, please contact our Registrar, Miss Angela Nutt: [email protected]
Downe House will not change their bank account details and if any parent is asked to pay into a different account they should contact the Finance Department immediately.
