About the role

MailMetroMedia are looking for a Commercial Strategy Manager, Digital. The role sits within the Digital Commercial team and will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies which drive revenue growth – this includes programmatic yield, traffic, and commerce – to enhance our market position. The role will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic initiatives that align with the company’s overall business objectives.

 

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including new product development, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and market entry strategies.
  • Collaborate across internal teams to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
    • Coordinate and facilitate timely delivery of key milestones.
    • Regularly review progress and provide constructive feedback.
    • Offer problem-solving and analytical support to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of commercial strategies and make data-driven recommendations for optimisations.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with commercial strategies, developing mitigation plans to minimise their impact.
  • Anticipate and proactively address emerging issues, adapting strategies as needed to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive benchmarking analysis to stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes and market dynamics that may impact the company’s commercial strategies.

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Collate information and distil data into clear insights and compelling communications for senior stakeholders to inform data-driven decision making.
  • Present senior management with regular updates on progress of key strategic initiatives, and ensure risks and issues are surfaced in a timely manner.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and business cases to senior management on request, effectively communicating the value proposition and potential outcomes.
  • Liaise across global teams to ensure commercial priorities and strategic initiatives are aligned.

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Drive operational excellence and enable a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Facilitate and optimise key meetings and processes.
  • Ensure best practices and key learnings are shared and applied throughout the organisation.

 

Person Specification

  • 4 - 5 years’ experience in commercial strategy or strategy consulting
  • Experience in media and tech preferred
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to approach problem solving creatively and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to synthesize information and present key insights to senior leadership.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple tasks and demands and constantly shifting priorities under tight deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to work across different levels of the business to drive projects forward and to problem solve.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders across levels and across the business.
