Flavored chips are a mixed bag—literally. Sometimes they're great, like these Thanksgiving chips from Trader Joe's, which taste exactly like stuffing. And sometimes they're just a little too conceptually crazy (we're looking at you, strawberry cake chips). Then there's Pringles' latest flavor Hot Diggity Dog. While it may sound pretty tasty, we're not so sure the cookout favorite is appropriate in December.
Discovered at Walgreens, Consumerist reports similar confusion, begging the question, "Aren't hot dogs summer food?" Pringles did just release a number of sweet renditions better suited for the holiday season. Perhaps the higher ups at Pringles were just trying to spice things up with a savory wild card. Who's to say?
There's no word on what exactly they taste like. We hypothesize the chips will have that classic hot dog flavor and a ketchup and mustard zing. Unfortunately it's unclear where exactly they can be found. The above batch were spotted at a Walgreens, but there's no intel on where the Walgreens was or if they can be found at any other stores. But if you're really craving that special hot dog and Pringle combo, fear not: This solar-powered technique ought to do the trick.
