In today's programme, the new year is off to an intense start here in Ecuador. Campaigning is in full swing for president Moreno's referendum on the 4th of February. His one-time mentor, the former president, Rafael Correa, is back in the country campaigning against the referendum, and calling president Moreno a traitor to the citizen revolution.
To discuss all this, we are very pleased to have with us Mario Unda. He teaches sociology and political science at both the central and catholic universities in Quito and he is a long time observer, commentator and participant in the Ecuadorean political scene.
