Despite months of rumours Adele and Rich Paul were already married, it's been claimed that the couple have in fact just got engaged.
Reports emerged on Thursday that basketball agent Rich, 42, quietly popped the question last week during a trip to Tottenham, London.
The location was said to be no coincidence, with Rich wanting to make his love known in Adele's hometown, amid claims she is preparing to move back to the UK.
A source told The Sun: 'Rich planned for the proposal to be in her hometown, and gave her an incredible four carat diamond ring.
'They celebrated with champagne at Chiltern Firehouse the following evening.'

They added: 'Adele thinks it’s hilarious that fans reckon they’re already married.'
Adele and Rich were rumoured to have tied the knot last year and reportedly confirmed the union at her best friend Alan Carr's comedy show in Los Angeles, with two audience members confirming the news to Deuxmoi.
An onlooker explained: 'I was at Alan Carr's comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted 'I did'.'
Another audience member added of the 'small and intimate show: 'When he asked if anyone got married recently she yelled 'I did'. Super cute all around and was super sweet but dipped right before it ended.'
They added: 'Adele was sitting right behind me with a friend having the best time. Her security only came in to bring her snacks.
'She didn't care if people knew she was there. She was heckling him - they're best friends.'
Rich later addressed marriage rumours as he told how he and Adele have 'helped each other' during their two-year relationship.
Appearing on CBS Mornings, Rich said of his partner: 'She's been great, I think she would agree that we definitely helped each other.
'I'm in a good space, we're in a good space. Happy. She's superb. She's been great for me. We've been great for each other.'

Rich was then asked by CBS host Gayle King about the rumours he and Adele have tied the knot.
The journalist asked whether she should refer to Adele as 'Mrs. Paul' the next time she speaks to her.
Richard played coy, saying: 'You can say whatever you want,' before adding he is not the 'type of person to put [his] personal life. It's not for the media.'
Adele called Rich her husband during her Las Vegas concert in September, sparking speculation that the two had tied the knot.
The couple first went public with their relationship in July 2021 when they were seated courtside together at an NBA game.
The Grammy winner has been wearing a pear-shaped diamond ring on her left ring finger for about a year.
In the past when asked about it, she commented that it wasn't an engagement ring, she simply likes high end jewelry.
Adele has a ten-year-old son, Angelo, from her three year marriage to Simon Konecki and told the Vegas audience that she was 'ready to be a mum again soon.'
'I really want to be a mom again soon,' Adele said during a sweet exchange with someone in the audience.

Adele's assistant Rose Moon moved back to the UK a few weeks ago and is currently organising the singer's return too, The Sun reported earlier this month.
Discussing the megastar's move back to London, a source said: 'It is all part of a wider return home and once her Las Vegas shows finish in November she has said she will be coming back.'
'Rose has already moved back to the UK and Adele will be following her. Just like the football, it seems Adele is coming home.'
The source also claimed Adele is a 'Brit through and through' which has inspired her desire to return to her roots .
