Good Morning Britain fans were left open-mouthed by Chico Slimani's striking outfit during a 'nonsense' driving debate on Thursday's show.

The X Factor star, 53, bizarrely appeared on the morning show to debate whether people should be able to drive cars in flip flops.

He was of the opinion drivers should be able to during the exchange which became heated very quickly as hosts Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh tried to clam the debate.

And those watching at home were quick to comment on his quirky outfit as he wore sunglasses and pirate-style hat and bandana.

Viewers were also left very baffled as to why he was taking part in the driving debate at all as they hilariously compared the interview to a 'fever dream'.

It comes after last November Chico looked unrecognisable on Good Morning Britain as he transformed his look with a bold hairstyle.

The performer-turned-wellness guru showed off his latest locks as he sported long black braids which trailed past his shoulders.

While chatting with Patrick Dempsey, named People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive', about whether it is OK to 'objectify men', Chico sported a black hat and tightly woven plaits.

Viewers would be forgiven for not recognizing the star as he modelled a short messy cut in 2005 when he shot to fame on ITV show The X Factor.

During this time, he coined the catchphrase, 'It's Chico time!' and became hugely popular with fans.

Fans had previously shared their delight at the star's transformation when he appeared on This Morning last February alongside Wagner, prompting a string of amusing memes.

They penned: 'Chico looking like Wednesday Addams #ThisMorning'; 'Is that wagner'; 'looking great buddy #ThisMorning.'

Another wrote: 'Are the plaits attached to the hat or his head?; 'Chico looking like Pippa Long Stocking'.

One commented: '#ThisMorning Chico channeling Little Bo Peep.'

Chico previously hit out at The X Factor's aftercare, claiming the show 'uses and abuses' aspiring singers.

The former goat herder said that although the show gave him a 'platform' to do other things, he believes singers are 'naive' for thinking they'd have long careers in the music industry.

He explained: 'It gave me the chance to earn a good living, I've been around the country entertaining the masses, so much has come from that.

'I can't complain because I again, I knew what it was, they use you, or abuse you, and you use that platform to go on.'

He then exclaimed: 'They don't care about you. You're a commodity, you are as good as the money you're going to make them. That is it.'

'You are completely replaceable and as I said it's a conveyor belt. if you're not going to do it, someone else will take your place to do it.'

An X Factor spokesperson told MailOnline at the time: 'Duty of care to our contestants is of the utmost importance to us. We take welfare very seriously and have measures in place to ensure that they are supported.'

Since finding fame on X Factor, Chico has set up wellness retreats in Bali, Croatia and Portugal.
