The Princess of Wales hugged a young fellow cancer sufferer after she was invited to Windsor Castle to take pictures by Prince William. In a moving encounter keen photographer Liz Hatton, 16, who is battling a rare and aggressive tumour, was asked by the future king to join him at an investiture he was holding to capture participants including Mark Cavendish , Waynes Barnes and Alistair McCoist. Liz, from Harrogate in Yorkshire, is trying to take part in as many photography experiences as possible and received the personal invitation from William after he found out about her through the London Air Ambulance Charity of which he is patron. While that experience would have been special enough, Liz was also invited along with her family to meet with William and Kate privately to hear about her day and cancer journey.

Bearman was thrust into the spotlight earlier this year when he became the youngest Briton ever to race in an F1 Grand Prix, aged 18. The teenager finished seventh on his debut at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, after receiving a call-up by Ferrari to replace Carlos Sainz when the Spaniard was diagnosed with appendicitis.

Secret son of late rock star who got nothing from his father's £4.5m will is 'homeless on the streets of London' after 'spending all his money'
The secret son of a rock star is living on the streets in London two years after the late musician's £4.5million will left him nothing and he 'spent all his money'. Liam Firlej was forced to go to court in a bid to prove the guitarist was his father after he had a year's long-romance with the 38-year-old's mother, Janina. But despite his paternity being confirmed by a DNA test, Liam didn't receive a penny from his father's will when he died in 2020. Liam, an army veteran who quit the forces in 2003 due his opposition to the Iraq War, has been homeless several times in his life, but says this has been the most traumatic. Liam claims he was forced back onto the streets three months ago as he tries to pay care bills for his maternal grandmother, who she raised him in his father's absence.

What has Daniel Day-Lewis been up to for 7 years? World's most decorated actor vanished to his 'Irish refuge' during retirement - but did he visit his rumoured favourite football club?
He's widely considered to be the greatest actor of his generation - having won three Oscars, four BAFTAs and two Golden Globes over the course of his forty year career. But in 2017, Daniel Day Lewis (centre, with wife Rebecca Miller in 2023) sent shockwaves through Hollywood when he announced he was retiring at the age of 60. The legendary actor (left, in New York in 2018) - who starred in Gangs of New York, There Will Be Blood, The Last of the Mohicans - never gave a reason for his exit, with his team insisting it was a 'private decision'. In a statement, Daniel's representatives simply said he was 'immensely grateful for his collaborators and audiences' and would not be making any further comment. However, the notoriously private star (left inset, with his Best Actor Oscar in 1990) appears to have made an exception for his director son Gabriel, 29, who is currently working on his directorial debut.

Owner of Venice's iconic Harry's Bar - where Bellinis were invented and Hemingway and Chaplin hung out - sues the Italian city for allowing speeding boats to wet his patrons' feet
Once frequented by the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Charlie Chaplin - and even George Clooney more recently - Harry's Bar is one of the most famous bars in the Italian canal city. First opened in 1931, despite it being renown as the home of the Bellini and Carpaccio, its second branch which overlooks the Giudecca canal is gaining attraction for all the wrong reason. The bar is currently being inundated by waves from speeding boats that regularly go over the 11 km/h (6.8 mph) limit. Now, Arrigo Cipriani, 92, who is the son of the late Giuseppe Cipriani who founded Harry's in 1931, is taking action by suing Venice.
