GOP want revenge to ex-intel calling Hunter's laptop 'Russian disinfo'

Republicans are seeking punishment for the 51 intelligence officials who falsely claimed in 2020 that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation. The infamous memo signed by the pro-Biden officials in the lead up to the 2020 election claimed that damning pictures and messages found on Hunter Biden's laptop bore the earmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.

That allowed Joe to discredit the laptop and its damning evidence during presidential debates, town halls and other media appearances prior to his election. Now, Republicans are demanding retribution on these 51 ex-intel individuals, saying they should be fired, criminally prosecuted or even thrown in jail. 'I think one their clearances need to be revoked,' Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview Wednesday during congressional baseball practice. 'I think there needs to be an investigation into every single one of them.'

The laptop 'from Hell' was originally discovered at a Delaware tech repair shop. Later, the FBI retrieved the device and verified its authenticity. The laptop was back in the spotlight during Hunter Biden's recent federal gun trial - where he was found guilty of three felonies . An FBI agent witness confirmed that the agency confirmed the authenticity of materials found on the device. DailyMail.com led reporting on the laptop since its discovery and had independently verified it in 2021.

Cammack (pictured) continued: 'We know that the intel community never operates in absolutes and the fact that we had 51 come forward and try to put forward a narrative that this was disinformation, misinformation when everyone knew full well that it wasn't, that it was very real.' She said the revelation is evidence of the weaponization and politicization of the Department of Justice (DOJ). 'That speaks volumes about the politicization and the weaponization of the DOJ and the IC (intelligence community). There has to be repercussions otherwise, the verified credibility of the IC is on the line if there is not a single thing that is done to those Intel officers.'

Cammack's fellow Florida Republican Rep. Greg Steube (Pictured) also said the 51 intel officers who provided the Biden's cover for the laptop should face consequences. '100 percent, absolutely there should be repercussions for that,' he exclusively told DailyMail.com. 

'That's what the American people are frustrated and tired about, is they see all of these people doing all these horrible things, using the deep state to go after Trump and Russia-gate and Russia collusion. It was all a lie. And none of these people have been held accountable. So if any of them are still working in government, they should all lose their jobs and then be sued if there's some type of cause that you can go after them for. The thing about it is, is a lot of these people do what they do because they know that nothing's going to happen to them,' Rep. Greg Steube said.

Among the coordinators of the infamous memo are Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. Several of the ex-intel officials doubled down on their 2020 memo this week, saying it was a 'patriotic move' that they don't regret. In addition to the concerned Floridians, Speaker Mike Johnson has also sounded the alarm on the now-proven credibility of Hunter Biden's laptop.

'As if Sec. Blinken's involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop cover up wasn't bad enough, [Weaponization of the Federal Government Subcommittee] has now found that the CIA was involved as well.' 'This corruption from our top govt & intel officials is chilling,' he wrote on X in May.

Other Republicans have called for repercussions for the intelligence officials as well, with some calling it election interference. 'In Hunter Biden's trial, the Biden DOJ admitted that Hunter's laptop was real all along,' Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, posted on X this week. 'Every single one of the 51 former intelligence officials who signed the letter saying that the laptop was Russian disinformation should be held accountable.'

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., similarly posted on X: '51 former intelligence officials signed a public letter claiming Hunter Biden's laptop had 'all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.' That letter interfered with the 2020 election more than anything Russia could have hoped to achieve.'
