One of the first questions people have about tiny houses is how tiny house dwellers can engage in normal life things like, say, having a significant other. But as evidenced by these cleverly spacious tiny houses—some of them designed for real couples—it’s entirely possible. Without further ado, here are five tiny houses with lots of room for love.

With two people living together, you can never go wrong with more storage. The “Moon Dragon” from Zyl Vardos offers just that with a pair of closets flanking the entrance to the loft, which has extra headspace with a 5.5-foot high arched ceiling. The company is not taking new build orders at the moment, but may open up its queue in the future.

The 280-square-foot “Indigo” tiny house from Driftwood Homes USA (whose website is now offline) allows lovers a bit of privacy with a separate bedroom towards the back, in addition to a loft bed for any guests. Better yet, the Murphy bed in the bedroom can actually convert into a bar workspace for two.

Twin tiny dwellings so you can live small and stay sane

Does living with another person in one tiny space sound like just too much? Perhaps something like this pair of “Zen Houses“ by Petr Stolín Architekt is a happy compromise. The two 10-foot-wide volumes include a living space in one and a two-story workspace in the other, plus a small outdoor lounge in between. That’s a lot of options for together and alone time.

Because couples who sweat together, stay together, right? This is a custom-design by Tiny Heirloom for rock-climbing-lovin’ homeowners Breck and Kelsey. Another highlight is a garage-style door that opens the home up to the outside. Tiny Heirloom’s custom base model packages start at $89,000.

The Basecamp from Oregon engineers Tina and Luke Orlando shows that a tiny house is not only doable for a couple, but also with some extra furry friends included. Their 200-square-foot design incorporates pet-friendly features like several kennels and built-in food and water bowls. The rooftop deck is also neat—ideal for romantic drinks under the stars or, you know, some breathing room when necessary. You can order the Basecamp tiny house for as low as $35,000 for just the shell or up to $77,000 for the turnkey model. Floorplans are available to download for free.
