Today’s M1 Mac mini user highly recommends a killer keyboard we rarely see in setups, from a brand we see everywhere in setups — Keychron. The maker’s popular K line of affordable keebs features a full-size mode that doesn’t show up all that often, perhaps because many folks favor smaller ones these days, eschewing the number pad.

Mac mini setup’s killer keyboard suitable for gaming and more

Redditor TheMrBr0wn showcased the robust setup in a post entitled, “Ok, here goes… what do you guys think?” Brown, just re-established in a new location as a day trader, runs a trusty M1 Mac mini as well as a PC on his butcher-block desk mounted on Ikea drawers. The machines drive a 49-inch Samsung G9 curved ultra-wide display and two 32-inch UJ59s monitors.

“For the computer I have an M1 Mac Mini (8GB/256GB). Attached to that setup is a OG HomePod, and a Magic Trackpad. The keyboard is a Keychron K10 which I use with this and my WFH PC setup (attached to a dock via the USB-C cable on the left),” Brown wrote. “The Mac is used for light day trading in the mornings and very basic home pc use (spreadsheets, surfing, and etc.). I know cable management is terrible, it is on my list to fix.”

Last week we looked at Brown’s massive 49-inch Samsung curved ultra-wide gaming display, as well as feedback commenters gave him on the setup. Today we turn to the highly functional and affordable keyboard. You can explore (and buy) all of the gear via the linked gear list below.

And for input devices, Brown includes a full-sized mechanical keyboard we don’t see much in setups, perhaps because so many people favor smaller ones. It’s the Keychron K10 wireless mechanical gaming keyboard from the keyboard maker’s popular K line of affordable mechanical keebs (see also: Hall effect keyboards for gaming).

“The Keychron is a well built mechanical keyboard for the price,” Brown said. “Definitely recommend!”

Keychron K10 keyboard comes with keycaps for both macOS and Windows. And users can hotswap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version.
