Big news for people (read: me) who are obsessed with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix partnership. Following the recent news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer continue their relationship with Spotify—which sparked rumors that their lucrative Netflix deal could meet a similar fate—a Netflix spokesperson dished that not only is the streamer upholding its contract with the former working royals, but it has several projects in the works with their company Archewell Productions.

According to reports from Hello! and The Mirror, the rep confirms, “The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date. Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon. We’re currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus.”

Heart of Invictus is a highly anticipated program that was announced by Netflix in January 2023. It follows the 2020 cohort of Prince Harry’s multisport event as the athletes prepare for the 2022 Invictus Games in the Netherlands. (The Games were postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns.)

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve,” Prince Harry said in an online statement back in April 2021. “This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year.”

The Netflix assurance comes on the heels of Harry and Meghan’s other big $$ deal with Spotify ending. Last week, the audio streaming giant and the production company launched by the Sussexes released a joint statement saying, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

The development comes after the couple produced a single series, Meghan’s Archetypes, in which the duchess sought to “investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back,” per her podcast’s page on Spotify. Archetypes topped Spotify charts in seven countries (including the U.S. and the UK!), and it also won the top podcast award at the People’s Choice Awards last year.

“I loved digging my hands into the process, sitting up late at night in bed, working on the writing and creative. And I loved digging deep into meaningful conversation with my diverse and inspiring guests, laughing and learning with them, and with each of you listening,” Meghan said at the time.

Harry and Meghan’s next projects with Netflix are firmly under wraps for now, but there are murmurs of a Great Expectations prequel, so prepare yourself accordingly!
