A colossal box of Felix cat food is now more affordable on Amazon than at Tesco or PetsAtHome, and 'cats are loving it'. The box, which contains 120 pouches of beef, cod, tuna, and chicken-flavoured meals, is priced at just £32.39, down from its original price of £58.32.

This equates to a mere 27p per pouch of 100g cat food. This is considerably cheaper than Tesco's pricing of £15 for a 40 pack (38p per pouch) or £12.95 with a Clubcard (32p per pouch).

It also undercuts Ocado's 80 pack, which is priced at £28 down from £33.85 (35p per pouch). PetsAtHome sell an 88 pack for £27.50, down from £30.49 (31p per pouch). This makes Amazon, by far, the best deal out of the bunch.

The Felix As Good As It Looks range boasts chunks of meat and fish in a delicious jelly. Each pouch serves up 100g and provides all the essential nutrients your feline friend needs.

Felix megapack from Amazon box
Felix's megapack is 120 pouches strong so will keep your cat happy for a while

However, if your cat enjoys a varied diet of wet and dry food, Purina ONE chicken is currently discounted - down to £20.79 for a 6kg packet, from £36.09, working out to £3.47 per kg.

This also trumps Tesco's offer of £5 for an 800g packet, as that equates to £6.25 per kilogram. It also boasts a 4.8 rating out of 9,907 reviews and has received a seal of approval from my own cat, Theo.

The Felix jumbo pack has garnered a 4.6-star rating from 28,832 reviewers. One satisfied customer shared: "They love all the flavours and each of my seven cats have their favourite, the quality of the food is outstanding and they eat every bit (not just lick the jelly off like other cat brands). It's been hard finding something that all seven like but I've finally found it yaaay! ".

Another happy pet owner commented: "My cats are picky when it comes to food but are always excited to eat this product. They pouches are a good size, and the packaging comes with suggested servings which is useful guidance for anyone who is new to having a cat in the family. The only downside is that the top strip doesn’t always tear easily and I’ve found that it can be quite messy if you get one that snags. Other than that, this product is popular with my pets, good value for money, and i love that the outer packaging has easy access tearing to display all flavours while keeping them neatly contained."

One practical user appreciated the convenience, saying: "Personally I like them because you just give the pouch a shake and all the meat falls out easy without getting on your fingers. Win win."

However, not all feedback was positive, with one less impressed reviewer stating: "Not as great as some of the other more premium brands, cats didn't particularly enjoy the taste."

In related news, Whiskas has reduced the price of their Surf and Turf flavours in jelly from £5.06 to £4. For those whose feline friends prefer Whiskas, like my own Theo who loves the fish and chicken variety though isn't too keen on the beef, this price cut is a welcome saving.
