Plies has been quite vocal about his political leanings recently.

That’s why it’s no surprise that the “Shawty” rapper made fun of Donald Trump for appearing to nod off during the Republican National Convention. Plies posted a clip on X, where he can be heard saying, “He can’t stay awake! That boy cannot stay awake. He sleep!” he says, laughing. “They talking, he sleep.”

As he’s saying this, Trump looks to have difficulty keeping his eyes open. It’s unclear if the ex-president fully fell asleep, or was trying to fight to stay awake.

“He Can’t Stay Awake At The RNC!! He Sleep Bih!!!!!” Plies captioned the video. “The Media Give Dude All The Passes!!!”

This week, Kodak Black slammed Plies for being critical of Trump following Saturday’s assassination attempt, in which the 78-year-old was shot and left with an injured earlobe.

“We ain’t going for no Trump slander, bruh.” Kodak said in an Instagram Live session, per HipHopDX. “You gotta get off that shit, Plies. Trump ain’t did nothing to you, you feel me? You rich, bruh, we rich. Fall back, love ’cause shit can get mafioso, boy.”

After the shooting, Plies insinuated that the incident was staged and Trump was acting “the victim” after “push[ing] hate for the last eight years.”

Plies also used the moment to encourage Joe Biden to continue his campaign efforts.

“Dear @joebiden u’d be damn fool to slow down your campaign!” he tweeted on Sunday. “Use this moment to push the agenda u been pushing banning assault rifles & gun violence etc. chaos vs a steady hand! can’t run on hate & act surprise when it happens! unify the country & show what leadership looks like!”

Kodak has endorsed Trump since he pardoned the “Tunnel Vision” rapper in 2021. Plies has yet to respond to Kodak.
