Xiaomi Mi 8 is an iPhone X clone

Without a doubt, the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer look a lot like the iPhone X.

From the notch on the front of its 6.2-inch AMOLED screen...

...to the stacked dual camera setup on the back. 

Of course, the Xiaomi Mi 8 retains its fingerprint reader, unlike the iPhone X. 

The Mi 8 Explorer has a few more extras, like this "transparent" design. It's just for show.

The Mi 8 Explorer has an in-screen fingerprint sensor that requires a little pressure to work.

Xiaomi says this will save some battery.

The Mi 8 supports gesture controls similar to the iPhone X.

Swiping from either side takes you back a step.

There's also a face unlocking feature that uses infrared cameras, though it isn't clear if Xiaomi's making the same security claims as Apple's Face ID.

The Mi 8 phones use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chip.

The Mi 8 has up to 256GB of built-in storage and 6GB or RAM, while the Explorer has 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

Xiaomi phones sell in limited markets, but the Mi series has had enviable specs, looks and performance for far less than the most top-shelf phone.
