Various traffic charges were lodged Monday against a juvenile and a young man who led police on a chase Sunday night on the Edens and Kennedy Expressways.

The chase ended near Addison Street when their car, believed to have been stolen in Evanston, was rammed by an Illinois State Police patrol car. Trooper William Deutsch, 30, suffered minor injuries in the incident. He was treated at Martha Washington Hospital and released.

Wilmette police said the chase began near Harms Road and Lake Avenue in Wilmette when two patrol officers, Thomas Dworak and David Johnson, tried to stop the car for a traffic violation. The car did not stop, leading to the chase down the expressways.

Charges of auto theft and eluding a police officer were filed against the two suspects, who were identified as a juvenile from Chicago and Larry Rogers, also of Chicago.
