  • 76ers' Guerschon Yabusele: Signs one-year pact with Philly

The 76ers signed Yabusele to a one-year, $2.1 million deal Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Yabusele will join the 76ers after his stellar play helped France to a silver medal at the Paris Olympics. The 28-year-old was the No. 16 overall pick in the 2016 Draft, and he spent two years with the Celtics before heading to Europe. Yabusele is coming off a career-best year with Real Madrid in Spain, during which he averaged 14.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Scores 19 points in comeback win

Embiid managed 19 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday's 95-91 semifinal win over Serbia.

Embiid was one of three Team USA players to score in double digits -- the others being Stephen Curry (36) and LeBron James (16), who had a triple-double. However, Embiid also led the team with three turnovers. Regardless, Team USA is advancing to the gold medal game against France.

Embiid (ankle) will start Thursday's semifinal matchup against Serbia.

Embiid was dealing with ankle discomfort and sat out the second half of Tuesday's win over Brazil. However, he's feeling good enough to play and start in the semifinal against Nikola Jokic and Serbia.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Sits final half versus Brazil

Embiid was held out of the second half of Tuesday's 122-87 win over Brazil in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics due to ankle discomfort, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports. The 30-year-old posted 14 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal across 12 minutes.

Embiid reportedly told coach Steve Kerr at halftime that he was experiencing ankle discomfort, and he was rested for the remainder of the game. While the big man's status is something to monitor ahead of the Olympic semifinals, he will likely suit up, as Team USA has a tall order ahead of it against Serbia and Nikola Jokic. Despite playing only the first half of the contest against Brazil, Embiid's ability to score and dominate on the glass amid ankle discomfort bodes well for Team USA if he returns to action in the squad's next contest Thursday.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Gets green light Sunday

Coach Steve Kerr said Saturday that he expects Embiid (illness) to play in Sunday's Olympic matchup versus Serbia, BasketNews.com reports.

After missing Saturday's practice due to an illness, Embiid is expected to suit up for Team USA's opening game of the group phase. The superstar will be playing in his first Olympic game for the United States, and through five exhibition matchups he has shown he will likely be a focal point on the stacked roster. Embiid is coming off another stellar campaign during which he averaged a career-high 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.7 blocks while shooting 52.9 percent from the field during the regular season.
