Near-record low temperatures expected Sunday in NYC. Here's the First Alert Forecast.
A brief period of showers Saturday afternoon led to the passage of a strong cold front that brought a taste of fall to the region overnight into Sunday morning.
Sunday forecast
Low temperatures Sunday morning could be the lowest since May, with widespread 40s and 50s. The forecasted low in Central Park of 55 will be very close to the record low for Sept. 8 of 52. Despite tons of sunshine, highs on Sunday will only reach the upper 60s to lower 70s at best. A steady and cool breeze will make it feel more like late September or even early October, rather than early September.
The cooldown will be very brief, however, as temperatures will start to rebound on Monday. Temps climb back into the 80s next week, while humidity remains low. Our next chance of rain is over a week away.
