As Skoda’s largest SUV, the Kodiaq is roomy inside with space for five or seven. The suspension has been tuned for comfort rather than driver appeal, but there’s no bad thing in a spacious family SUV. It’s not the cheapest SUV to buy new, so shop for a used one and pay a whole lot less for this thoroughly practical car.

If you want to sit up high in your small SUV, a Kamiq may not be for you – the driving position is surprisingly low to the floor. Otherwise there’s a lot to like.
