I’m disappointed in Fubo. Before 2024, I’d recommend this live TV service to everyone under the sun who was considering YouTube TV. Those days are gone.

Don’t get me wrong, Fubo still has its perks, but only for specific TV-watching fans—I’m talking sports fans who don’t care about HGTV and Animal Planet. Yes, Fubo has all the sports channels you can think of, but you’d have to get by without TNT, TBS, and truTV for some basketball, baseball, and hockey games if you sign up with this live TV streaming service.

But don’t knock it until you try it—Fubo offers a 7-day free trial.

See how we rank. Our experts spend thousands of hours researching and testing streaming services every year and then rate them according to four essential criteria:

  • Bang for your buck
  • Reliability
  • Features
  • Customer satisfaction

How much does Fubo cost per month?

To cut a long story short, Fubo’s Pro plan costs $79.99 per month for 185+ channels, Elite costs $89.99 for 250+ channels, Premier’s subscription is $99.99 for 260+ channels, and Latino is $32.99 for 60+ channels.

Fubo’s Elite plan comes with over 250 channels for kids, newsies, reality junkies, and sports fans who want all of the popular sports channels imaginable. No other live TV service offers this many channels for $90, so it’s a one-of-a-kind subscription.

If you’re considering the Pro plan because you have your wallet in mind, we’d honestly recommend YouTube TV’s plan instead. Fubo’s Pro plan is not worth $80—more on that in a bit. SHOWTIME fans can benefit from the Premier plan, allowing you to have your live TV and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME channels in one place.

Now, is Fubo worth the price? Scroll down below the table for my disappointment-filled spiel.

Is Fubo worth it?

Here we go (*clears throat*).

Fubo went from being a sports streaming service to an excellent service for any home to an overpriced service for what it offers.

This live TV service was already on the edge for me because it didn’t have Warner Bros. channels, like TNT and TBS, for NBA and MLB watching. Now that Warner Bros. has merged with Discovery, Fubo no longer has HGTV, Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery, Food Network, and other popular channels.

However, Fubo kept its pricing and channel count the same. How? Fubo added channels you’ve likely never seen before and could watch for free with The Roku Channel or Pluto TV. This service must bring its price down to be competitive, but at least its Elite plan remains one of the best for sports-watching families.

Does Fubo have extra fees?

Fubo has one fee that is both advantageous and disadvantageous for subscribers: a $12–$15 monthly fee for regional sports networks.

Why is it an advantage? Fubo is one of two live TV streaming services that offer a wider range of RSNs for you to watch your local NBA or MLB team, for example. So, if you’re a Golden State Warriors or Atlanta Braves fan, Fubo is your No. 1 pick. Check out all 35+ RSNs Fubo carries.

Why is it a disadvantage? Well, you can’t opt out of this fee if you don’t care to watch your local RSNs. That’s like paying for a monthly Chick-fil-A meal you’ll never get to eat.

Does Fubo have a free trial?

Fubo offers a 7-day free trial, which we like because you have to give it a test drive before you fork over your money. We also like how Fubo is consistent—it’s offered a 7-day free trial for the past few years, whereas other services offer trials for a random short period.

Fubo has a lot of sports channels but lacks popular entertainment channels

Fubo delivers the most sports channels you can find with any TV service. We illustrate the complete channel lineups here to show every entertainment, news, and sports channel Fubo offers. Here’s a little sneak peek, though:

Pro: Big Ten Network, Comedy Central, Disney Channel, ESPN, Fox News, FS1, FX, Golf Channel, Hallmark Channel, Law & Crime, Nat Geo Channel, NFL Network, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Network.

Elite: ACC Network, ESPNU, FX Movie Channel, Great American Adventures, MLB Network, Nat Geo WILD, NBA TV, NHL Network, Nicktoons, SEC Network, Sony Movie Channel, and Tennis Channel.

Premier: Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME EXTREME, SHOWTIME FAMILY, SHOWTIME SHOWCASE, SHOWTIME WOMEN, and SHOxBET.

Latino: beIN Sports Español, Canela.TV, Cine Sony Televisión, Cinelatino, ESPN Deportes, Estrella TV, Filmex, Fox Deportes, Galavisión, GolTV, Nat Geo Mundo, Pasiones, and Única TV.

As mentioned earlier, Fubo doesn’t have Warner Bros. or Discovery channels anymore. But what does that exactly mean? Scroll down a little to see the full list. But Fubo delivers the most sports channels you can find with any TV service.

Fubo cut out Discovery channels from its lineups

Recently, the list of channels that Fubo is missing got longer. Due to the Warner Bros. and Discovery merger, not only does Fubo not have TNT and TBS, but now it lacks HGTV and Food Network. So now we can’t watch some crucial sporting events or learn how to make Kardea Brown’s buttery lobster rolls.

Fubo features: DVR storage, streams, and video quality

Fubo’s features stack up competitively against other live TV streaming services, and we can get behind its new DVR, plentiful streams, and standard video quality.

Fubo home screen

Fubo upgraded its DVR storage in a timely fashion

Around the same time Fubo removed some key channels, it added unlimited DVR storage space. No longer are you restricted to 1,000 hours of DVR storage, and Fubo can now hang with the big dogs in this field (YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV).

Everyone can stream Fubo simultaneously

Have 10 family members in your household? No problem, says Fubo.

With Fubo’s Pro, Elite, and Premier plans, 10 people can stream simultaneously. For the Latino plan, two can stream at one time. Here’s the little asterisk: you must be in the same house to make good use of those 10 streams. So if your dad is streaming the golf tournament at home and you want to stream the local news while at work, no can do. You’ll have to rock paper scissors on who gets to use the service.

Fubo streams in standard HD video quality

Like YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, Fubo streams its live channels at 720p/60 fps. Where the three differ is that YouTube TV and Hulu Live offer some channels in 1080p, while you’ll only see that resolution in Fubo’s on-demand content. But Fubo does feature select sporting events in 4K on the FOX and NBC channels, like the UFL Championship and March Madness.

What are the downsides to Fubo?

While Fubo offers over 200 channels for a fair price, at least 25% of those channels are filler channels. It’s missing Warner Bros. Discovery channels, like TNT and Food Network. Fubo also charges a regional sports network fee of $12–$15 per month, which can also be advantageous depending on the sports teams you follow.
