We are very excited to be able to reveal the final section from the NottinghamshireLive Top 200 Businesses list for 2022 - as we rank the illustrious Top 20.
Over the past few days we have been counting down through the rankings, building up to the 20 biggest companies by turnover, which were announced at an exclusive networking breakfast event at Nottingham Trent University this morning.
With the event now finished we can bring you the top 20 rankings and the winners of three special awards, handed out earlier today.
The 2022 list has been compiled using data from the official register at Companies House In association with the Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University. The headline sponsor is Pattersons Commercial Law,
The data includes companies’ turnover figures, and the number of staff they employ.
The top spot in the 2022 rankings went to Nottinghamshire’s biggest and most renowned company, Boots, winner of numerous business awards and long-time leader of the pack.
The pharmaceutical and beauty retailing giant continues to dominate its field, both in the UK and abroad.
Locally Boots has been one of the region’s biggest employers for decades, and continues to be a major recruiter at its Beeston HQ, listing 43,742 staff members according to the figures.
Another of Nottinghamshire’s most renowned and successful companies, Games Workshop, has made its own little piece of history, climbing up into the Top 20 ranking for the first time, after a record-breaking sales performance in 2019.
Games Workshop, which reported revenues of £2.69 billion in its latest figures, takes its place among Nottinghamshire big-hitters Experian, in 7th place, Capitol One, in 8th, Wilko owner Amalgamated Holdings Wilkinson Limited in fourth, and second-placed Pendragon, Annesley-based giant of automotive trading.
And this year the Top 20 has had a shake-up in the form of the highest new entrant of any company, Birmingham Highways Limited, a firm delivering highway development and maintenance services in Birmingham as part of an ongoing PFI project. The firm’s official registered address was moved to Nottinghamshire in 2019.
The other award of the day for notable performances went to the company that has shown the fastest growth of any on the list. This year that went to Arc Property Services Partnership, which jumped an impressive 65 places to 92nd in this year’s ranking.
Those awards were given to the three winners at a major networking breakfast event this morning, hosted by Nottingham Trent University. Stay tuned for a full write-up of the event and the awards ceremony.
