Hundreds of student artists, entrepreneurs, managers, and scholars study, practice, and participate in events within dozens of graduate and undergraduate arts degree programs at BU.

While best known as the home to Terriers Hockey, Agganis Arena also regularly hosts national and international artists and family-focused arts events.

Founded by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, BPT is an award-winning professional theater dedicated specifically to new works for the stage.

The BU Arts Initiative in the Office of the Provost is committed to ensuring that the arts are deeply embedded in the fabric of the University by providing free access for students to local museums and the orchestra, presenting prestigious artists, and developing opportunities that encourage students to participate in the arts.

BU Bands members, representing every undergraduate school and college on campus, perform for more than 200,000 people at 150+ events each year. All groups provide fun and exciting ways for non-music majors and music majors alike to have the band experience while pursuing degrees in their disciplines.

BUTI is recognized internationally as a premier summer training program for aspiring young musicians and is the only program of its kind associated with one of the world’s great orchestras, the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Through FitRec and BU’s Physical Education, Recreation & Dance program, students can train in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, and aerial dance. Students can also take dance for credit and even graduate with a dance minor.

Committed to a culturally inclusive and interdisciplinary interpretation of art and culture, the BU Art Galleries maintain an ongoing schedule of temporary exhibitions that focus on contemporary international, national, and regional art developments.

The Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center captures and documents history by collecting the manuscripts from individuals who play a significant part in the fields of journalism, poetry, literature and criticism, dance, music, theater, film, television, and political and religious movements.

Music at Marsh Chapel enjoys a rich heritage of quality music-making both in worship and concert.

With dozens of a cappella, theater, comedy, and dance groups, there is no shortage of opportunities for students to be creative outside of the classroom.

Situated at the heart of BU’s Charles River Campus, the Tsai Performance Center regularly hosts student and professional concerts, theatrical and dance presentations, lectures, film programs, and more.

WFT at Boston University is an award-winning, professional theater committed to producing inclusive and accessible shows that provide a shared experience for families. WFT also runs a year-round, dynamic education program for students from PreK to grade 12 that teaches theater skills connected to overall child development.
