Commuters in Bristol were told to allow extra time this morning (July 11) after a crash closed the M32 overnight. One lane northbound was closed on the motorway following the collision, in which a car left the carriageway, National Highways reported.
Lane three was shut between Filton and J19 at the M4. One lane was also closed on the M4 while the vehicle is being recovered.
The M32 was closed northbound for around two hours early this morning while emergency services were at the scene. In a recent update, National Highways said: "The #M32 northbound has reopened between J1 #Filton and the #M4 J19 following an earlier collision. Lane 3 (of 3) remains closed for emergency barrier repairs. Lane 1 (of 3) is also closed on the #M4 westbound within J19 to help facilitate recovery. Allow extra journey time."
Traffic monitor Inrix reports: "One lane closed due to recovery work, accident, a vehicle that has left the carriageway involved and barrier repairs on M32 Northbound from J1 A4174 (Hambrook) to M4 J19 (Bristol). M32 has now reopened with a lane closure remaining in place for the repairs and recovery. A lane is also closed on the M4 heading westbound."
Both the M32 and M4 reopened in full just before 2pm.
