Hotel in Zona 13, Guatemala
Set in Guatemala, 6.5 km from Popol Vuh Museum, Hotel Urban Home offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The staff was very friendly, helpful and there was great communication. I was travelling in Guatemala with my 2 daughters. We had a very early flight the next day and Hotel Urban Home was literally 5min drive from the airport. The traffic in Guatemala City is extreme and crazy, so not having to worry about getting on time to the airport was a HUGE relief. The staff had our cab ready at 4am and they even had prepared sandwiches for us to take with us, as it was too early to have breakfast. If you have a flight to catch or if you are arriving late in Guatemala City I highly recommend this cute and safe hotel!

We were unable to use our Visa card in many restaurants. It was not because of any problem at our end but it seems that the technology to read the card is incompatible with many machines. This plus very high fees to convert money made enjoying ourselves more challenging. The traffic congestion and pedestrian unfriendly streets made walking in Guatemala City a challenge.
Guatemala es un lugar mágico, lleno de mucha cultura, orden y sobre todo gente muy atenta. Volcanes y lagos por todo lado dan vistas espectaculares.
Guatemala exceeded my expectations. The hiking was amazing. I especially liked the city of Xela and the surrounding villages. The people were very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back.
Guatemala is a Beautiful country, I suggest to the local government that they put more money towards cleaning it up and making transit a priority. Behind all the broken concrete & garbage is a Beautiful country bursting with character and Lovely people .. clean up your country as your Blessed to live in such a wonderful & Beautiful place !
Guatemala is a beautiful country. There’s a lot to see and do, unfortunately a lot of the activities are spread out! I did a lot of bus travelling and the roads aren’t great. Plus everything runs on Guatemalan time which can be hours more or even less! The food is nice and simple and the people are very friendly. Not a lot of English is spoken so helpful to know some Spanish.
We had only planned for two weeks in Antigua for the purpose of taking lessons in Spanish which incidentally were great. We made a few side trips in the afternoons and on the weekend. Sadly we did not have time to visit other places in Guatemala. We would definitely like to return as even within Antigua, there were places we were unable to get to.
The people of Guatemala are so friendly and warm. We travelled all over the country and were amazed at how different all the areas were. Had amazing trip which included Guatemala City, Antigua, Lake Atitlan Panajachel, Lanquin, Semuc Champey.
This is a gloriously beautiful country but painfully poor and blighted by sadly large amounts of garbage. I spent a month mainly in the Lake Atitlan area which is quite rural and touristy, totally different from Guatemala City. I never tired of the beautiful traditional clothing on the women, but I did get weary of the constant urge to buy touristy wares and became quite suspect of the “I made this myself” line when I saw so many places selling exactly the same things. I never got comfortable with the need to bargain on prices. That said, if you want to buy fabric, this place is heaven. I took some Spanish classes at a great local school, Jabel Tinamet (which I highly recommend). The local people friendly and wonderfully patient with my poor Spanish and slightly amused at my efforts to use it! Panajachel is a great base from which to explore by easy boat rides the numerous lake communities. Tuktuks are available and cheap but if you mostly walk, as I did, always keep an eye out the dog poop! Dogs wander everywhere but are the least aggressive dogs I’ve ever seen. This is not a destination for foodies. Traditional Guatemalan food is very bland with little seasoning and there is a curious local affection for pizza and pasta. It is also not a good travel choice for anyone with walking difficulties as, with the exception of Panajachel, all the communities are built on quite steep slopes so one is always walking either up or down.
Antigua is a must to go place. You don't need to go there very early in the morning as moat of the places there open late except for the museums. Day and night scenes are different and if pissible stay and walk around there for at least 4 hours to give it a quick tour. I love Antigua and i visited there twice during my trip in Guatemala. But please have more cash handy if you are insterested in puchasing souvenirs from street vendors.
Guatemala City is definitely not candy for the eye. I came here knowing this but expected to find that the city would have some soul or some liveliness - doesnt really have either. The Parque Central in zona 1 has some interesting sights and zona 10 might be interesting if you want to see shopping malls.
Zona 10, Guatemala
I had an excellent experience at Reforma Hostel. First, both staff that I interacted with were kind, friendly, and accommodating. Second, the facilities were fantastic- comfortable bed, hot showers, and clean atmosphere. I especially appreciate the extra touches in the dorm, such as curtains for privacy, reading lamps, and lockers. The breakfast was simple but pleasant. Overall, this is excellent value and I highly recommend it to any travelers passing through or exploring Guatemala City.
Zona 13, Guatemala
Rutt was excellent on reception and was happy to let me practice my Spanish. The hotel is ideally situated next to the airport and the shuttle to the airport with my bags was very helpful. There is not much in the immediate area but there is a shop stocked for basic supplies and the hotel is ideal for a quick stay after flying in or before flying out of Guatemala City. The breakfast was good and all staff were extremely friendly.
Zona 13, Guatemala
The staff were incredibly friendly and easy to communicate with on the booking app. They were so welcoming and friendly. It was just my young daughter and I, we got in late and were very tired and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a room with a bathroom. Very close to the airport, $3 Uber and it arrived in 2 minutes. Rooms were dated but very clean. We felt safe here. Would stay here again if flying in/out of Guatemala.
Zona 1, Guatemala
Had such a wonderful stay here. The hospitality and responsiveness of the host made my trip to Guatemala City literally seamless, from airport pickup to local recommendations. The bed and breakfast is very charming and a hidden gem. The rooms were clean, quiet and very comfortable. Not to mention the delicious complementary breakfast by the beautiful back garden was a wonderful finisher. Will definitely be back!
Zona 10, Guatemala
Súper clean, comfortable, coffee in the room. Very close to a mall. Best part was the owners were very responsive and caring for my purpose of the visit. Very safe building with a security guard. 3 locked doors to enter the apartment. Clean, nicely decorated in Mayan decor. I would highly recommend staying here and would book again next time I need to be in Guatemala City.
Zona 10, Guatemala
I arrived into Guatemala quite late at night but the host was very helpful with my arrival. It was nice to have a hot shower, clean room & comfortable bed after my long journey. The area was quiet & I had a very good sleep. Breakfast and coffee was included & was very nice. The host helped me arrange a shuttle to Lake Atitlan for the next day :)
The hotel is in a gated community close to the airport. Beds are extra large doubles. The breakfast included Guatemalan, American and Continental options and was served on the terrace overlooking the garden. The staff is very friendly and they even waited for us for a check-in after midnight due to a flight delay.
Bad experience. I showed the hotel manager that they charged 4 times the contracted night. To this day they refuse to refund the 3 unexpected charges. I can't find a channel in Booking to intercede for me. I will not use Hotel Metropolitano Guatemala again nor do I recommend Booking.com
we loved the building, the room, the room service was really good. it is a weird location, there is nothing walking distance, but we found uber in Guatemala cheap, so moving around was easy, at least on sunday because I have heard there is plenty of traffic the rest of the week.
Zona 4, Guatemala
Perfect stay, really amazing people at the hostel, great breakfast. I forgot my watch when we left the room, but they responded so well and quickly. They secured my watch and I could pick it up when I went back to Guatemala City. Really good and trustworthy host.
Zona 1, Guatemala
I had a great stay! The manager Antonio was very kind and friendly and offered amazing tips for exploring Guatemala. The showers had hot water and the hostel was clean. It is located across the street from a government building so security is present 24/7.

The exceptional staff at Good Hotel Guatemala made my stay memorable. The room's thoughtful arrangement and the incredibly comfortable beds exceeded my expectations. A truly top-notch experience that I highly recommend to fellow travelers.
Zona 13, Guatemala
We stayed there a night after landing in Guatemala. Super nice ppl, good hospitable ambiance, nice breakfast. Everyone was very helpful, the price was quite decent and knowing the money is used to help the community is a great bonus.
Zona 16, Guatemala
To be honest, while my stay there I never had their breakfast. Being that it has a kitchen we thought we'd make our own breakfast. The location was amazing for my first time being there or visiting Guatemala for that matter.
The breakfast was OK. The location is near the airport, which was convenient for us due to our travel plans, but I wouldn't choose this place if I were to stay in Guatemala City. However, the staff were very pleasant.
Zona 13, Guatemala
Great stay walking distance to the airport. I stayed here twice, on my way in and out of Guatemala. Safe to walk to the airport at 4am, just stay on the main road 0 issues. Host was lovely. Plenty of hot water. Very queit
Zona 13, Guatemala
Just stayed here after our flight to Guatemala for the night. Beds very comfortable and shower was very warm! Free breakfast was delicious and staff were very friendly! Would deffo stay again!
GREAT BREAKFAST A LOT VARIETY. i LIKE THE BUFFET OPTION AND THE FRRESH FRUIT AVAILABLE. STAFF AND SERVERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY. The incluide a lot Guatemalan options and american options.
