Finnygook Inn

Hotel in Crafthole

Set in Crafthole, less than 1 km from Finnygook Beach, Finnygook Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. My wife and I and our dog were delighted with our stay at the Finnygook Inn. We spent one night on our hike along the Coastal Path. We arrived in the late afternoon and settled into a clean, tidy, and spacious room with a lovely view of town. The room had a mini fridge, coffee machine, hot water kettle, and the bathroom had a tub. We enjoyed an exceptional, memorable dinner in the Inn's restaurant, where the bar was bustling and the dining room was full, and each dish we ordered was delicious. After a good night's rest, we departed in the morning. We are especially grateful for the chef's generous gifting of a breakfast sausage to our puppy, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely return.

The Stuff of Legends

Inhabited since prehistory, Cornwall is characterised by a series by rocky bays, fishing villages and spectacular coastline. Right at England’s western tip is Land’s End where sheer cliffs descend into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast is popular St Ives, home to many Cornwall hotels by the sea on Booking.com.

Another fantastic beach resort is Penzance, while across the bay is St Michael’s Mount (not to be confused with similar Mont St-Michel in Normandy). Also boasting a wonderful beach is Newquay, though it is best known for its excellent surfing conditions.

Further north is Tintagel, the stuff of legends due to its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The remains of Tintagel Castle are perched dramatically on a rocky promontory, while inland on Bodmin Moor granite tors and stone monoliths only add to Cornwall’s feeling of mystery.

Heading north towards Bude the Cornwall beaches become longer, while on the southern coast Looe is a picturesque town curving around an inlet. To the east near St Austell is the Eden Project, huge domes housing thousands of plants from all over the world.

The county town of Cornwall is Truro, home to an impressive cathedral overlooking the River Fal which flows down to Falmouth Bay, a great spot to try some local Cornish ice cream.
