Shanghai has really a special touch and feeling.
Shanghai has really a special touch and feeling. If you were in Paris and New York in the same time. Skyscrapers in the other side of the Bund in Pudong, old houses, hutongs, palaces, residential areas, excellent street food, fantastic tea houses. Use the metro, it's cheap and extensive. Or by foot. Unfortunately it is rather difficult or impossible to rent a bike using the new bike -renting system for a foreigner. Shanghai is much more interesting than Beijing, as its history is completely different the city is also different. In a very positive sens. Less green than Beijing , the only problem is to find really green areas which is still possible in Beijing. Try to find local eateries, and don't miss the Bund, the Yu garden, old Shanghai area, French concession district, take the normal Ferry for 3 jüan to get to Pudong, visit the Shanghai tower with its fastest elevator in the world , drink a longjing in one of the tea houses, and visit Watertown close to the town.
