We visited to stay overnight after attending the swearing in and welcome reception at the SB Historical Society for new City of Santa Barbara employees including one new police officer who is our friend.
I was dismayed that to visit the Santa Barbara Zoo, the only option for two seniors who had 90 minutes to visit on a Friday would be to buy 2 memberships costing $50. Some discounted or day rates would have been welcome.

Don't miss the wineries and vineyards outside of Santa Barbara. Enjoy the tasting rooms located in the city center, as well as the great restaurants. Old Mission is always a favorite spot. Have a cocktail at one of the many famous classic hotels.

Santa Barbara has so much to offer.
Santa Barbara has so much to offer. We ended up walking along State Street and visiting some cool galleries and shops. Really nice unique restaurants and even a Turkish coffee and sweets shop were some of the highlights. We also visited the campus of UCSB, which is beautiful too. We didn't get a chance to visit the beach this time, but we did enjoy the natural history museum.

Not that I like ton of tourists around when I travel but it was the off-season so things were a bit dead abound Santa Barbara during the week. I am sure the weekend would have been more live.
But it is still a neat small city and easy to get around without a car. The restaurants were pretty good, too.

Santa Barbara is a lovely place to visit - there's not a huge amount going on, but that's the way we liked it. We ate really good food, drank REALLY good wine and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone we met was lovely and we highly recommend visiting to anyone :-D

We were there on a Saturday night. Very busy in the CBD. Difficult to get a parking space. Difficult to get a table at a restaurant- had to wait. Lots of homeless people along the beach front, so didn’t feel safe to walk to town at night. Lovely location between the mountains and the sea. Would have liked a little more time to check out the shops and the beach during the day.

Large spacious room. Hotel served good complimentary continental breakfast. Reception staff very helpful/friendly, accommodating my additional requests. Good size fridge and microwave available in room. Beds comfortable and en suite bathroom provides a good shower (with complimentary shower gel/shampoo/conditioner)
Large swimming pool (quiet during our stay) with complimentary sun beds and towels. Great stay in Santa Barbara and I would definitely recommend.
Lovely hotel just a short walk from the beach in Santa Barbara. Quiet area with lots of parking available outside. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Liked the clothes steamer provided. Didn’t eat in the hotel as lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The main shopping area of Santa Barbara is no distance away. No need to drive as you can walk everywhere. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
The owner was friendly and honest. I was so tired I did not realize l left my cell phone at the lobby. I was in my room less than five minutes. Someone knocks on the door and it was the hotel owner with my cell phone! My room was clean with a comfortable bed. I was in town for the Santa Barbara Film Festival and the hotel was on the same street as the theatre!
A clean and comfortable place walking distance from the beach. The main city center of Santa Barbara is about a 15 minutes walk away. Breakfast was very simple. Parking was also included in the room rate. Also enjoyed the layout of the Hotel with a comfortable community area to sit outside and socialize.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. The reception staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable of the area with good recommendations of restaurants and shops and places to visit. The location was was near the beach and was in a quiet area.
