To see wildlife in its natural habitat head to La Jolla beach where harbor seals rest, or watch whales in season from Point Loma Lighthouse.

I'm a San Diego native and love to visit. Love eating at Fillipis pizza and visiting all the sites. Trolley, bus, and rideshares are the easiest mode of transportation around the city and eliminates the extra parking fees associated with some of the exhibits. Great weather, lots to do and see, lots of interesting and beautiful people, friendly for the most part. Wide variety of great places to eat and drink, lots of local breweries and bars, many appropriate for the whole family. A bit more expensive than other places but what place isn't these days?! Besides it's southern California, close to beaches, on the bay, cool urban scene, as well as places with more of a country vibe, desert not far, Tijuana just to the south. Expanded trolley lines to get to various spots all around town, including down to the border to walk into Tijuana (although a car or Uber/Lift will almost definitely be necessary). They're currently doing a major upgrade to the airport (Lindbergh Field), which is in very close proximity to downtown and on San Diego bay which makes for an absolutely beautiful scene flying in and driving from the airport or car rental lot. Doing the hop on hop off bus was great to get a sample of the city. We saw things we wouldn't have otherwise. We were in San Siego for the Susan G. Komen 3 day breast cancer walk. It's a beautiful city . We especially enjoyed walking along the ocean in various areas! Old Town is a particularly cute area with many great restaurants!

It is just a 10 min ride from the airport. The staff was friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was great! The lobby area was beautiful. This room is good for a 1-2 day work-related stay.
