Breakfast was okay, they had few options. But the downside would be paying for it, if so just add it as part of the room expense.

FAQs about hotels in Philadelphia

Friendly City of the Founding Fathers

The birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn. The name of the city translates to City of Brotherly Love and the city itself is a vibrant mix of history, art and culture.

Philly is famed for its public art with more sculptures and murals than any other city in the USA. Seeing the best graffiti and statues won’t break the bank balance, since you can find many free tours and admire them absolutely free of charge!

It’s also home to many national historical sites with the Independence National Historical Park as a starting point and center for all the major landmarks, including Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell is located, the symbol of the American Revolution.

Visit the world’s largest urban landscaped park, Fairmount Park, with over 17 square miles of green area. There are plenty of paths and hiking trails and after that, enjoy a local cheesesteak sandwich, soft pretzel or some Tastykake snacks.

Arriving at Philadelphia International Airport, you’re just a 20-minute ride from downtown. Booking.com has a variety of hotels in downtown Philly, near the airport or for the sports enthusiasts, near the Wells Fargo Center.

Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are wonderful historical sites. I highly recommend booking a 25-minute tour of the Hall to learn more about its history. The Philadelphia Museum of Art exhibits stunning artworks and historical artifacts. The Eastern State Penitentiary is a sobering experience that has a profound impact on the mind and emotions.

The hotel was great because it was close to the express and easy to find. There was a TGIF Fridays, and a steak house across the street, also a Target nearby. I also noticed that there were many other places of interest.

Philadelphia is a great place to visit with all of the museums, etc. I recommend taking your children to the "Please Touch Museum" where the kids can run around freely and experience many different play areas and exhibits. The carousel is fun for the children and the adults!

This trip we visited the Portal at Love Park, art museum and just admired the architecture and night skyline around the city. Boat house row and Kelly drive is relaxing. Went to the best 5 cheesesteak spots around the city: Angelos, Dalesandro's, Berardis, Jims, and Johns roast pork. A different spot that you must go to for dessert is Johns water ice.

This is a great city, especially for cultural events.

This is a great city, especially for cultural events. I happened to go on a weekend when the Eagles were playing football, so I can assure the reader that this is also a town that is wild about its sports teams! I often go to less-visited places in the city, so I can highly recommend the Rosenbach Museum and Library near Rittenhouse Square for the literary and historical treasures to be found there (original manuscript of James Joyce's Ulysses, first Bible printed in what is now the U.S., Bram Stoker's original notes for Dracula, and the entire library of the major modern U.S. poet Marianne Moore), Those with an interest in medicine and medical oddities should definitely include the nearby Mutter Museum. I also recommend the amazing Victor Cafe in the old Italian Market area for those who like opera, including amazing young singers who also happen to be the ones to serve you dinner! And there is so much more . . .

Taylor Swift had seen that every hotel room in Philadelphia was taken but I was very happy with the room I had here. It was a bit hot at night but I had the window open wide, so nothing too bad. The shared bathroom was perfectly fine and the kitchen facilities were excellent. Street parking was ok too. I never met the host but had good communication by text. I did meet her sister, who was very friendly.
