The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. Istanbul is a very interesting place to visit, but make sure you do lots of homework before you come. Some places good, some not so good which had really good reviews. Next time I would stay on the Asian side as I found it had more of what I like in a destination. The accommodation we stayed in was reasonable but in a very run down part of town, but within walking distance to the major attractions which drew me to it.

Beautiful city rich in culture and history. Good Turkish food, cafes and shopping. Easy to get around by public transport ie. metro or tram. Did not like taxis here as many rip off if you are a tourist

Defnitely worth a visit!
Defnitely worth a visit! Quite a unique place with a special touch of culture. The locals offer çay in many of the places you go for free. There is a nice historical feel to the place. Great opportunity for shopping. A week in Istanbul is worthy!
Walk in Taksim Square, visit the Grand Bazaar and definitely eat local food. The tourist areas are a little overcrowded and pricey but you will enjoy it. I loved how much we walked everywhere, closed so many rings.
Don't stress too much about transport, just get an Istanbul card and use that instead of the taxi's. Also use the ferry!

I loved Istanbul the architecture and ambiance is not something you can feel anywhere else in the world. It’s has become super expensive and it’s not cheap if anything it’s more expensive then London.
But to see the beauty of Istanbul and Islamic history we will always come back

Group of 10 women travelling in a group for a short get a way in Istanbul having never been there before. The hotel was so helpful. Organised our taxi from the airport, guided tour of Sultanahmet sites, a boat trip on the Bosphorus and a hammam spa too.
The best breakfast we have ever eaten. Served outside on their small terrace.
Thanks for being fantasic hosts. Will always recommend Hotel Poem to anyone who wants to stay in the Sultanahmet area.
Clean and well-equipped hotel. Fantastic and helpful staff throughout. The breakfast was fantastic with a great view. Very close to Taksim Square and there are so many locals in that zone.
We also used the transfer service to the airport and the price was so much better than the taxis in front of the airport that we used when we arrived.
I was very pleased with my stay and will stay there again if I find myself in Istanbul again.
The best part of our trip in Istanbul was, undoubtedly, finding this Hotel. The Staff, especially the Manager, were incredible to us. 5 star hotel treatment! Everything was perfect and we will recommend this place to everyone we know!
I would like to thank one more time to Mr Murat (manager) for having such a good and pure heart in a city full of greediness. We will never forget him.
Myself and a friend wanted somewhere to stay while we explored the tourist spots of Istanbul for a few days. The hotel was great for us, with clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The location was great. Close to the shops and cafes around Galata Tower but still quiet at night. A few minutes from the ferry terminal and not too far to walk to Sultanahmet or Taksim Square.
Okay so they upgraded me . Excellent service excellent recetion staff. Especially night staff very friendly . Service is probably as good as any 5 star hotel. The location the coffe shop the atmoshphere just everything was right . Prob for the money the best Hotel by far in Istanbul. Very helpful porter staff cleaner. Just was right thankyou very Mich Shoaib
