An historic city brimming with places to visit of outstanding quality - many with collections of artworks within - of extraordinary rarity and importance. You can immerse yourself in Spanish culture here -it really doesn't get any better.
There are great places everywhere for eating tapas, and sampling local wines. The people are very friendly indeed......

Leon was a delight.
Leon was a delight. It was full of interesting buildings, and the Cathedral was awesome. The Gaudi house was extremely interesting. We sampled a couple of restaurants (there were plenty to choose from) and the quality was excellent, and the prices cheaper than we expected. We will return some time soon.

One day is not enough in Leon!
One day is not enough in Leon! The historical center is bustling from 12pm-10pm. It's easy to walk around and the church is well worth a visit. It's hard to find a cafe open at 8am. Leon is a one of the cities that the Camino del Santiago goes through, so you'll meet some interesting people passing through.

León is compact (in the historic section) and easy to get around.
Lots of bars and restaurants and tiny places to have a drink and a Tapa. All quite reasonably priced.
The cathedral is worth a visit just for the stained glass windows. They were sensational.

If you want to stay in a less expensive, but special, hotel to the exceptional Leon Parador, this is the hotel for you! Central with secure parking. Nice large rooms, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, all set in a historic building with inviting courtyard. Breakfast was varied, fresh and plentiful. The key question is would I stay here again? The answer is yes, without hesitation!
Our room window opened onto an old square, in a really quiet area of the old town. The hotel is really only some steps away from the beauty of Leon. The staff has been super caring and attentive. The parking on-site is really convenient, and even if you pay an extra for it, the rates are so good (especially off-season) that I suggest asking for it.
one of the best places we have stayed in.
it was an amazing hotel right in the centre of Leon. hotel was beautiful and the people who work there were the best. I am deck barely going back.
